The Whitecaps lost one then won one as they split a twin bill yesterday against Fort Wayne.   Game one was 3-1 and Victor Larez took the loss.  He gave up one unearned run on four hits and two walks with a strikeout in four innings and the loss dropped him to 5-9.  The Whitecaps managed only three hits and Billy Nowlin went one for two with a walk and a run.

Robert Waite and Tyler Conn combined for the seven inning shutout in game two. Waite gave up three hits and two walks in four innings in his no-decision start while Conn improved to 6-3 with three shutout innings of relief in which he didn’t allow a hit or a walk.  Gustavo Nunez went two for three with a solo home run while Luis Salas doubled, drove in two and scored a run.
