Detroit Tigers Minor League Baseball Commentary and Analysis

This one was pretty easy. Cameron Maybin is the consensus number one prospect in the Tigers organization. Drafted out of highschool by the Tigers in the first round in 2005, Maybin signed too late in the year to make his minor league debut that year. In 2006, he played a full season at West Michigan and was nothing short of awesome. He hit .304/.387/.457 with nine homeruns and 27 steals. He struck out a lot (116) and that’s something for him to work at as he debuts in Lakeland this year.
Hopefully, you enjoyed the prospect profiles. The Tigers’ minor league affiliates start play on Thursday (at least the full season ones) so be sure to check back then to see how your favorite Tiger prospects are doing.
