Tigers Minor League Baseball Blog

Tigers minor league lefthander Santo Franco topped a column yesterday of potential prospect sleepers at Baseball America’s propect blog.  He was hit hard in the Gulf Coast League last year but he showed some good stuff this spring and he’ll most likely start the season in Oneosta.  We’ve had him signed since 2003 (Dominican Republic) but prior to 2006, he played in the Dominican Summer League.

Another guy they mention is Gabriel Benitez, who looked sharp this spring as well.  He’s a Marlins cast off and we picked him up after they had given up on him after he missed a ton of time with elbow problems.
