Detroit Tigers Minor League Baseball Commentary and Analysis
[powered by WordPress.]
This weekend some of the only people you might see working over the holiday is the group I am a part of; professional baseball players. I don’t feel like I am owed anything or that it isn’t fair I get a day off like everyone else. No, I actually enjoy being the entertainment for so many people on our nation’s birthday. After so many games and going through the same routine day after day, as a player you can get jaded from the whole experience. After going through all the Fourth of July festivities and getting a chance to really think about what it is we do. Also how there are lots of other people out there who don’t get a day off and put their lives on the line to make sure that myself and the millions of baseball fans around the country get to do what we all love. I just feel lucky enough to get a chance to be a part of an American tradition. On that note I am also announcing that this past Forth has inspired to become a part of something just as American for next year, the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog contest. Yes, I watched mortal humans stuff an incredibly disgusting amount of hot dogs into their mouths and I thought, that needs to be me (is it too late for April Fool’s?).

I see you’re listed at 210, but maybe if you DID do the contest you could hit 200…
