Detroit Tigers Minor League Baseball Commentary and Analysis

The question I posed in the title of this blog is, is it possible to not talk or watch or do anything else dealing with baseball once we leave the field? No. Let me run through my after game routine: I leave the field and if I have family or friends there, I go out and talk to them about the game. Next I get in my car to drive back to my host parents house and usually call my girlfriend, Amanda to let her know how the game went, but since she listens to every game on the internet, she already knows what happened. But I manage to do the unthinkable and find a way to talk about baseball anyway. Once I have sufficiently bored her with the same talk we usually have after every single game I arrive back to my host house and pretty much go through the same routine all over again with my most gracious host family, the Steketees. If it wasn’t a good night I usually keep the conversation short and go into my room to throw a pity party, then check the internet to read the game story, turn on the TV and watch Baseball Tonight. Some say this seems like such a sad existence where I cannot get away from work no matter where I go or what I do. I am comforted knowing that I am not alone in my venture because I can say with a high confidence level every other player is the same way. It’s the way we live and it’s the only life we know, for now.
