Detroit Tigers Minor League Baseball Commentary and Analysis

Today marks the first day that the select few teammates of mine (Pat Stanley, Shawn Roof, Lauren Gagnier, Trevor Feeney, and Charlie Furbush) as well as myself are officially moved into our new house. I am just relieved to have a roof over my head and a place to park my car, but we actually got a little more for our dollar. It’s a fairly new five bedroom house with all the amenities, and yes I do know how to do my own laundry. And I thought I had a good set up for spring training with the TVs and game systems, well now I still have my Wii, but we have added an Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, with the entire Rock Band game. Now for everyone who leads a normal life these items sound like mere wastes of time, or devices for the dumb and bored. However, to a ballplayer, video games are saving graces. The way I see it, as long as I am going to be playing a game for a living, doing something that keeps me young, I might as well act the part. It keeps me loose and enjoying life, so that the stress of the season doesn’t build up and consume my every thought. So when I have a bad day and come home to my nice (rented) house, king size bed (which by the way is a story in itself of how I obtained it), and some games to de-stress, I guess you could say I can go to the park the next day with a renewed attitude and outlook. There’s a new day, a new challenge, and chance to have some more fun. So now there’s no more dorms, cramped spaces crazy noises coming from the hallway, or cafeteria food. But I only wish that we had bought some pots and pans, so that I can make dinner tonight.
