Detroit Tigers Minor League Baseball Commentary and Analysis

Michael Holliman only had one hit in Erie’s 9-4 win over Akron but he definitely was a producer in the game. The one hit was a three run homer and Holliman also walked and scored another run. He’s now hitting .318 and while the switch hitter is a bit older for prospect (he’ll be 25 in June), he’s getting it done at least at the Double A level. The most impressive stat is his 9/13 strikeout to walk ratio so far this season and as a 16th round draft pick, this kid is a potential sleeper. In each of his two previous minor league seasons, he’s had at least 10 doubles, triples and homers.
Eddie Bonine picked up the win. He gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in 5 2/3 inning.
