Michael Hernandez is slowly getting onto peoples radar with a great start down in Lakeland.  He went one for four today but he drove in two runs.  He’s now hitting .393 and while he’s older then you’d expect at High A (23), you have to be happy with the results.  The problem is, he really doesn’t have a position and while he’s listed as a right fielder, he’s been getting a lot of time at DH.

Cameron Maybin failed to get a hit but he did walk three times as the pitchers are starting to avoid him.  He’s now walked seven times in eight games and that’s very encouraging.

On the mound, Lucas French picked up the win and he’s now 2-0.  He gave up three runs on seven hits and no walks with five strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
