Lucas French Throws Five Shutout Innings in Lakeland Win

by @ 6:53 pm. Filed under Cameron Maybin, Eleazer Aponte, Lakeland Flying Tigers - April 2007, Lucas French, Michael Hernandez

Lucas French had a nice start for the Flying Tigers in their 3-1 win over Tampa.  He gave up four hits and a walk with four strikeouts in five shutout innings.  Eleazer Aponte was just as good in relief.  He did give up a run but he gave up just two hits with five strikeouts in four innings of work.

Michael Hernandez was pretty much Lakeland’s offense.  He drove in all three runs with a homerun and a double.  Cameron Maybin still hasn’t gotten his first hit and he’s now 0 for 8 with five strikeouts.  He did walk and score another run though.

According to the box score Maybin was the DH.

That seems strange to me. They had a converted second basemen Ovandy Suero playing in centerfield last night.

I am wondering if Maybin is injured.
