Jonah Nickerson Pitches SeaWolves to Win Over Akron

Jonah Nickerson improved to 3-3 with a solid outing in Erie’s 4-1 win over Akron. He gave up one run on eight hits and three walks with three strikeouts in seven innings. Cody Satterwhite pitched the final two frames and didn’t allow a run and he earned his sixth save of the season.

Maxwell Leon led the way at the plate and he went three for four with a double and a run. Ryan Strieby went two for four with a double, a run and an RBI.

I was watching a game a few years ago in Erie and Verlander was pitching. It was the game he was pulled because of the call from Detroit.

Cody Satterwhite has that same throwing ‘presence’ I saw that day in July when Jason was called up.

Last night, Satterwhite was throwing 95, 96, 97 fastballs that left Akron batters spinning around long after the ball hit the catcher’s glove.

This kid is going to be be one of the better relief pitchers in MLB.
