Gorkys Hernandez Drives In Three in White Caps Loss

The White Caps are now 0-2 and they’ve lost them both by one run. Tonight. Gorkys Hernandez had a big day at the plate. The centerfielder went three for four with two doubles and three RBIs. Santo De Leon also had three hits with two runs and an RBI while Ryan Strieby hit a solo shot.

There’s not much good to say about the pitching in this one. Lauren Gagnier was hit hard and he gave up six runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks with five strikeouts in just 3 1/3 innings.

Interesting to note that Gorkys was batting in the 8th spot last night. I am wondering if that is because

They moved him up two levels; i.e. he skipped Oneonta and he is still only 19 years old.
