The SeaWolves scored four runs in the first inning and then held on to beat Reading 4-3. Guillermo Moscoso had an impressive outing the mound and he won his first start since getting promoted to Erie. He gave up one unearned run on three hits and a walk with ten strikeouts in six innings. He now has 82 strikeouts in 58 innings this year and he only has fourteen walks and a .190 batting average against. Not bad for a guy who didn’t show up many prospect lists last year.
Jeff Frazier went two for four with a double, two RBIs and a run. William Rhymes was a perfect four for four with a double, a triple and a run.
Josh Rainwater was roughed up and he fell to 7-5 in the SeaWolves 10-1 loss. He gave up nine runs (eight earned) on eight hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Santo De Leon went two for four with an RBI. William Rhymes went three for five and all three hits were singles.
William Rhymes drove in two with a triple in the top of the ninth inning as the SeaWolves turned a 4-3 deficit into a 5-4 win. Dusty Ryan also had a nice game and he went two for four with a solo homer.
Josh Rainwater had a solid start in his no-decision. He gave up four runs (two earned) on eight hits with a strikeout in six innings. Brendan Wise pitched a shutout eighth inning and he improved to 1-0.
Erie won a shoot out with Reading 9-7 in a game that saw plenty of hitting stars. Maxim St. Pierre went two for four with a three run homer while William Rhymes had a game high three hits with a run.
Daniel Christensen improved to 2-4 despite a mediocre start. He gave up five runs (two earned) on nine hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Brendan Wise pitched a shutout ninth and he earned his first save as a Seawolf.
The Seawolves had plenty of hitting stars in their 10-5 beating over the B-Mets. William Rhymes and Maxim St. Pierre were probably a touch ahead of everyone else and they both had a team high three hits. Rhymes drove in one and scored twice while St. Pierre drove in three and homered.
Angel Castro picked up the win just his first appearance for the SeaWolves after he got bumped up from Lakeland. He gave up a hit and a walk in two shutout innings.
Erie topped Harrisburg 3-2 and it was William Rhymes that had the big hit of the game. His three run homer in the third inning was all the SeaWolves got it but it was enough for the win. Freddy Guzman pitched in with a triple, a single and he scored on the homer.
Josh Rainwater improved to 2-0 with a nice start. He gave up one run on three hits with six strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
The SeaWolves did it again and this time they beat Bowie 5-0 with some very nice pitching. Andrew Kown picked up the win and he gave up just three hits and a walk with three strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Wilkin Ramirez went two for five and he belted a two run homer. William Rhymes went three for five with two doubles, a triple and three runs.
Michael Hernandez had a huge day at the plate for the Seawolves in their 12-4 win over Bowie. He went three for four with two homeruns and six RBIs in the win. William Rhymes went two for five with a double, two RBIs and two runs while Kody Kirkland went two for three with a double, a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.
Eddie Bonine improved to 14-5 with a solid start. He gave up four runs on seven hits and one walk in six innings of work.
Jonathan Connolly fell to 6-5 on the season with a rough start in the Seawolves in 7-5 loss to Connecticut. He gave up six runs (four earned) on seven hits with three strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.
William Rhymes went three for five with two RBIs. Kody Kirkland went two for four with a run and an RBI in the loss.
Dallas Trahern fell to 10-6 on the season with a rough start in the Seawolves 6-2 loss to New Britain. He gave up six runs (five earned) on nine hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings of work.
William Rhymes was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with a double and a run.
Erie had plenty of hitting stars in their 14-7 win over Harrisburg but William Rhymes probably did the most damage. He went two for five with two doubles, four RBIs and a run. Wilkin Ramirez went three for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs while Jeff Larish belted his 20th homerun of the season.
Jonathan Connolly improved to 6-4 despite a mediocre start. He gave up five runs on eight hits on two walks with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
Erie took care of Harrisburg 7-2 and it was Jair Jurrjens who shut down the opposition for the win. He improved to 5-5 on the season and he gave up one run on four hits with ten strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Jackson Melian had a big day at the plate. He went two for four with a double, a homerun and four RBIs. William Rhymes went three for four with a double, an RBI and two runs.
Erie got plenty of offense in a 12-1 win over the first place Trenton Thunder. Clete Thomas went three for four with a double, three RBIs and two runs to lead the way at the plate for the Seawolves. William Rhymes also had a nice game and he went three for six with two RBIs and two runs.
Andrew Kown improved to 4-6 on the season with a nice start. He gave up one run on three hits and a walk with five strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Kyle Sleeth fell to 0-3 for Lakeland and he didn’t even last through the second inning as Lakeland lost 8-4. Sleeth gave up three runs on four hits and three walks with one strikeout in 1 2/3 innings. Ricky Steik wasn’t much better and he gave up four runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief.
William Rhymes was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for three with a two run homer.
Michael Hernandez belted a pair of homers and he drove in four runs in Lakeland’s 7-6 loss to Sarasota. William Rhymes also had a nice game and he went two for three with two walks and a run.
Ricky Steik took the the loss and he fell to 2-7 on the season. He gave up a couple of hits and a run in the bottom of the tenth inning.
Lakeland bounced back after the doubleheader loss and beat Fort Myers 3-2 behind a strong outing by Burke Badenhop. He gave up two runs (one earned) on seven hits with three strikeouts in six innings.
William Rhymes went one for four with a walk, a double and two runs. Michael Hernandez hit a solo homerun and that was his thirteenth of the season.
Burke Badenhop dropped to 6-5 on the season with a tough start in Lakeland’s 7-6 loss to Tampa. He gave up six runs (four earned) on five hits and three walks in 4 1/3 innings.
William Rhymes went three for five with one run in the loss. Maxwell Leon went three for three with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored.
Burke Badenhop fell to 3-4 on the season with a rough start in Lakeland’s 11-2 loss to Dunedin. He gave up six runs (three earned) on eight hits with a strikeout in three innings. Alfredo Figaro was also hit hard and he gave up four runs in 2 2/3 innings. Maxwell Leon provided all of the offense in the loss. He doubled and drove in two runs.
In the second game, the Flying Tigers edged Dunedin 3-2. Cameron Maybin hit a solo homerun (his third of the season) and William Rhymes also went yard. Ovandy Suero continued his rampage of the base paths and he had two hits and two steals to bring his steal total up to 49 on the season. Paul Hammond picked up the win with a shutout fifth inning.
Lakeland got some nice pitching in their two game sweep over Brevard Couny. In the first game, Kyle Sleeth gave up one unearned run in four innings and Paul Hammond picked up the win with a shutout frame in the sixth. This was Sleeth’s first start since getting demoted after a tough stretch pitching for Erie. William Rhymes was the hitting star and he went three for four with an RBI
The second game was a 4-2 win and Alfredo Figaro threw five innings and gave up one run in a nice start. Jacob Ramos picked up the win and he improved to 4-1 while Ovandy Suero went two for four with a run and three stolen bases. The three steals brings his season total up to 42.
Burke Badenhop improved to 6-3 on the season with a nice start in Lakeland’s 6-2 win over St. Lucie. He gave up two runs (one earned) on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
