Erie Held to Six Hits In Loss to Bowie

Erie had a tough time getting anything done at the plate and a nice start by Luis Marte went to waste.  He gave up one run on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in eight innings of work.

The SeaWolves scored their lone run via the longball.  Wilkin Ramirez went deel in the fourth inning with a solo shot.  It was his ninth homer of the season.

Jonathan Connolly Is Hit Hard In Erie Loss

Jonathan Connolly was shelled for seven runs (five in the first two innings) on nine hits and three walks in six innings.  The loss dropped his record to 0-2 on the season.

Wilkin Ramirez was the hitting star in the win.  He went two for four with a double, a homerun, three RBIs and two runs.

Erie Held to Five Hits In Loss to Trenton

Erie lost to Trenton 5-2 and four of those hits came off the bat of two hitters.  Wilkin Ramirez went two for four with a double and a run while Dusty Ryan went two for three with a double and a solo homer.  Ryan’s one of the hitting stars on the team and he has a 1.001 OPS and he’s hitting .444 against left handed pitching.

Andrew Kown took the loss and he fell to 2-3.  He gave up three runs on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in six innings.

Erie Is Doubled Up By Akron

Andrew Kown was roughed up in his start in the SeaWolves 8-4 loss to Akron.  He didn’t take the loss, but he gave up four runs on six hits and four walks with four strikeouts in five innings.  Anthony Tomey fell to 2-2 when he gave up a run in the seventh inning.

Wilkin Ramirez had a nice day at the plate.  He went three for five with a double, a triple and a run.  Ryan Roberson singled, doubled and drove in two.

Wilkin Ramirez Homers Twice In Erie Win

Wilkin Ramirez had a huge day at the plate in the SeaWolves 7-4 win over Akron.  He went three for four with a double, two homers, three RBIs and three runs.  Ryan Roberson also had a nice game with two doubles and a single.

Marcelo Perez improved to 1-0 despite giving up the lone earned run of the game.  Freddy Dolsi pitched a shutout ninth and he picked up his second save of the season.

Wilkin Ramirez Homers Erie to Win Over Altoona

Erie edged Altoona 5-4 and Wilkin Ramirez had the game winning hit.  His solo homer in the bottom of the seventh broke a 4-4 tie and that won it for the SeaWolves.  Freddy Guzman went one for three with two walks, three stolen bases and a run.  The three steals brings his season total up to 13 on the season.

Casey Fien allowed the tying run to score in the seventh inning but because Erie turned around and took the lead back in a hurry, he got the win.  Freddy Dolsi pitched a shutout ninth and he saved his first of the season.

Andrew Kown Throws Six Shutout Innings In Win Over Bowie

The SeaWolves did it again and this time they beat Bowie 5-0 with some very nice pitching.  Andrew Kown picked up the win and he gave up just three hits and a walk with three strikeouts in six shutout innings.

Wilkin Ramirez went two for five and he belted a two run homer.  William Rhymes went three for five with two doubles, a triple and three runs.

Erie Sweeps Doubleheader Over Bowie

Erie took two today in two very different games over Bowie.  The first game was a pitcher’s dual in which Benjamin Fritz threw six solid innings.  He gave up one run on seven hits with two strikeouts while Josh Rainwater picked up the win with a shutout inning in the eighth inning.  Jeff Frazier went two for three with two walks while Wilkin Ramirez belted a solo shot.

In the second game, Erie’s pitching wasn’t nearly as good but they piled on the offense.  Freddy Guzman tripled and he drove in four runs while Maxim St. Pierre doubled, drove in three and scored a run.  Anthony Tomey was the least effective pitcher and he gave up three runs in three innings but he was the one who picked up the win.

Erie Edges Altoona In Ten Innings

Wilkin Ramirez drove home William Rhymes in the top of the tenth inning to win it for Erie.  Ramirez had just one hit but he played a role in four of Erie’s five runs in the win.  He singled, drove in two and scored twice.

Dallas Trahern had a nice start despite not getting a decision.  He gave up three runs on eight hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings.  Matthew Rusch improved to 5-1 with the win.  He gave up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.

Wilkin Ramirez Drives In Four In Erie’s Blowout Win

Just about everyone was a hittine star in Erie’s 13-3 win over New Britain.  Wilkin Ramirez went three for five with a homerun, two runs and a team high four RBIs.  Clete Thomas had a team high four hits and he scored three times in the win.

Eddie Bonine improved to 12-5 with the win.  He gave up three runs on six hits with two strikeouts in six innings of work.

Williams Rhymes Drives In Four Runs

Erie had plenty of hitting stars in their 14-7 win over Harrisburg but William Rhymes probably did the most damage. He went two for five with two doubles, four RBIs and a run.  Wilkin Ramirez went three for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs while Jeff Larish belted his 20th homerun of the season.

Jonathan Connolly improved to 6-4 despite a mediocre start.  He gave up five runs on eight hits on two walks with three strikeouts in six innings of work.

Erie Shutout By Bowie

Erie couldn’t score a single run despite outhitting Bowie 7-5 in their 2-0 loss.  Wilkin Ramirez reached base four times with three singles and a walk while Steve Torrealba went one for two with two walks.

A pretty good start by Eddie Bonine went to waste and he fell to 10-5 on the season.  He gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings of work.

Lakeland Held to Five Hits In Shutout Loss

For the second time in three games, the Flying Tigers were shutout and this time they were held to just five singles.  Wilkin Ramirez was the only hitter with more then one hit and he went two for four.

Eleazar Aponte took the loss and he fell to 2-7 on the season in the 6-0 loss.  He gave up six runs (three earned) on seven hits with two strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Burke Badenhop, Josh Rainwater Combine to Shut Out Sarasota

Burke Badenhop and Josh Rainwater combined to throw a three hit shutout over Sarasota.  Rainwater picked up the win and he didn’t give up a hit in his three innings of shutout relief.

Wilkin Ramirez singled home Daniel Worth in the bottom of the ninth and that was the only run for either side.  No Flying Tiger had more then one hit and there were no extra base hits in the game.

Lakeland Edges Jupiter 4-3

Lakeland and Jupiter got in only one of their games because of rain and Lakeland came out on top 4-3.  Angel Castro improved to 2-0 and he gave up three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks with six strikeouts in five innings.

Wilkin Ramirez went three for three with a double and two RBIs.  Michael Hernandez went two for three with a walk, a run and an RBI.

Christopher Cody Makes Lakeland Debut

Christopher Cody wasn’t awesome, but he certainly held his own in his first Florida State League start.  He gave up two runs on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings before giving it up to the pen.  Derek Witt then had a tough time and he gave up seven runs (three earned) in three innings and he took the loss.

Wilkin Ramirez went two for three with a double and a run in the 9-2 loss.  Rafael Mendez went two for four with two RBIs.

Kyle Sleeth Is Hit Hard In Lakeland Loss

Kyle Sleeth’s troubles continued as he fell to 0-1 in Lakeland’s 9-3 loss.  He gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks with one strikeout in only four innings. 

Wilkin Ramirez hit a solo homer in the loss.  Joel Roa went two for four with a run.

Lakeland Held to One Run In Loss to Tampa

Lakeland lost their third straight game in a 2-1 pitcher’s duel to Tampa.  Ricky Steik gave up just one run in four solid relief innings but he still took the loss because of the lack of offense.

Wilkin Ramirez was a perfect four for four in the loss.  Ryan Roberson singled and drove in the only run for the Flying Tigers.

Burke Badenhop Pitches Lakeland to Win Over St. Lucie

Burke Badenhop improved to 6-3 on the season with a nice start in Lakeland’s 6-2 win over St. Lucie.  He gave up two runs (one earned) on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.

William Rhymes was the hitting star in the win. He went three for three with a double, an RBI and two runs.  Wilkin Ramirez went two for three with a double, two RBIs and a run.

Lakeland’s Pen Struggles In Loss to Palm Beach

The Flying Tigers lost 9-6 to Palm Beach and the pen gave up six of the nine runs.  Jacob Ramos gave up three runs and he took the loss and then Derek Witt gave up three more to seal the deal.

Wilkin Ramirez went three for four with a triple, two RBIs and a run.  Ovandy Suero walked twice, scored two runs and he stole his 38th base of the season.
