Ramon Lebron was knocked around for four runs in just three innings in his start this afternoon. This was after a four run first inning by the Whitecaps. So when he left and Jacob Turner came in, he was the pitcher of record and while he threw six innings, it was still Turner’s first relief appearance of the season. He fell to 1-3 and he gave up four runs on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts in the 8-5 loss.
It was tough day to because Peoria stole eight bases on the Whitecaps battery. Turner has had a rough time and while he hasn’t been downright bad, he’s throwing no where near the level he was when he was shutting down the opposition in his first two starts. Still, he has 44 strikeouts and just seven walks in 42 2/3 innings.
Jordan Lennerton went four for five with a run and an RBI. Avisail Garcia went two for four with a run and an RBI.
Jacob Turner had a decent start today but the Whitecaps pen was hit hard in an 8-4 loss to Burlington. Turner gave up three runs (just one earned) on six hits with five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. After that, it went down hill and Victor Larez gave up a run in 1 2/3 innings while Jose Ortega was knocked around for four runs and he took the loss.
Jordan Lennerton went two for four with a double, a walk, two RBIs and a run. Jamie Johnson went two for five.
