Zachary Piccola gave up three unearned runs in the top of the tenth inning as the White Caps lost to the Loons 5-3. He gave up one hit and one walk with one strikeout in that single frame.
James Skelton singled, scored and drove in a run. Michael Bertram doubled and drew a walk.
The White Caps didn’t score a run until they were down 2-0 but they got it done in the later innings as they pushed to a 4-2 win. Michael Bertram went two for four with a double while Scott Sizemore went two for three with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run.
Phil Napolitan picked up the win. He gave up one hit and of the four batters he got out, they all went down via strikeout. He improved to 4-2 on the season.
Duane Below improved to 13-5 on the season with a nice start in the White Caps 6-1 win over Fort Wayne. He gave up one unearned run on three hits and three walks with eight strikeouts in seven solid innings.
Jordan Newton went two for three with a homerun and two RBIs. Santo De Leon went two for four with two RBIs and a run.
The White Caps made it three straight wins with a pair of wins in a doubleheader with Fort Wayne. Jordan Newton went four for four with a double and three RBIs. Gorkys Hernandez went two for four with two RBIs and a run. Phil Napolitan got two outs in the seventh and he picked up his third win of the season.
Kelvin Cedano improved to 2-2 in the second game. He gave up one run on four hits with three strikeouts in three innings of relief. Hernandez had another nice game and he went two for three with a triple and two runs in the 4-1 win.
Joseph Tucker singled home Santo De Leon in the bottom of the ninth inning to win it for the White Caps. James Skelton went two for four with a double and two runs while Jeramy Laster went two for four with two RBIs.
Brett Jensen picked up the win and he improved to 5-1 despite giving up the tying run in the top of the ninth inning. Charles Furbush had another nice start and gave up two runs on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts in six frames.
Jeffrey Gerbe was roughed up as he fell to 2-2 in the White Caps 9-3 loss to the Dragons. He gave up six runs (three earned) on ten hits with one strikeout in six innings of work.
Michael Bertram was the hitting star in the loss. He had just one hit but it was a two run homer in the second inning.
The White Caps rallied for three runs in the ninth inning to beat the Dragons 5-4. The game winner came when Ryan Strieby was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. This was after Brennan Boesch singled home a run to tie the game up. Gorky Hernandez got it done at the plate otherwise. He went three for three with two walks, a double, an RBI and two runs.
Brett Jensen improved to 4-1 on the season. He gave up one hit and a walk with one strikeout in a shutout ninth inning.
Gorkys Hernandez drove home Audy Ciriaco in the bottom of the ninth inning to win it for the White Caps. Earlier in the inning, Ciriaco singled home the tying run in the 5-4 win. Joseph Tucker doubled twice and drove in two runs while Santo De Leon went two for two with a double, two walks and two runs.
Phil Napolitan picked up the win with two innings of shutout relief. He gave up a hit and he struck out four.
Duane Below improved to 12-5 on the season with a nice start in the White Caps 4-0 loss. He gave up three hits and a walk with six strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
Jeramy Laster was the hitting star in the win. He went two fr four with a double, a homerun and two RBIs.
Jonah Nickerson fell to 11-7 on the season in a tough start in the White Caps 9-2 loss to the Loons. He gave up six runs on eight hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings.
Jordan Newton was the hitting star in the loss. He went three for four and one of his hits was a double.
Charles Furbush improved to 4-0 with yet another nice start in the White Caps 6-1 win over the Loons. He gave up just a single run on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in seven very solid innings.
Brennan Boesch went two for three with a walk, an RBI, a double and two runs. Jordan Newton went two for four with a triple and two RBIs.
The White Caps couldn’t get much going at the plate as they were held to a run on five hits in a 2-1 loss to Great Lakes. Joseph Tucker was the hitting star in the loss and he went three for three and he drove in the lone White Caps run.
A nice start by Jeffrey Gerbe went to waste. He gave up one run on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts in six innings.
The offense struggled in the White Caps 3-2 loss to South Bend. Jeramy Laster was the hitting star though. He went two for four with a run and an RBI.
Kelvin Cedano took the loss when he gave up a single run in two innings of relief. Lauren Gagnier struck out ten in six innings as he had a nice start go to waste.
Duane Below improved to 11-5 on the season with a very nice start in the White Caps 11-2 win over South Bend. He gave up just a single hit and four walks with seven strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Gorkys Hernandez, Jeramy Laster and Scott Sizemore had huge days at the plate. Hernandez went four for five and he was a homerun short of the cycle. He scored three runs. Laster went four for four with a homerun, three RBIs and three runs and Sizemore went four for five with a double, two RBIs and two runs.
The White Caps rallied for three runs in the top of the eleventh inning as they took care of Wisconsin 6-3. Ryan Strieby broke the two with a big two run double and he later scored on an error to cap off the three run eleventh. Jeramy Laster went two for four with a two run homer.
Casey Fien picked up the win with a shutout tenth inning. This was after a solid start by Jonah Nickerson, who struck out nine and gave up three runs in nine innings.
Charles Furbush continued his domination of the lower ends of the minor league system with another nice start in the White Caps 4-2 win over Wisconsin. He gave up just two runs on five hits with ten strikeouts in seven innings of work. Since joining the White Caps, he’s struck out 28 and walked just four in 27 2/3 innings.
Ryan Strieby belted a solo homer in the win. Audy Ciraco went two for three with a double, a triple and a run.
Casey Fien gave up an unearned run in the bottom of the tenth inning as the White Caps lost to Wisconsin 5-4. It was disappointing because the White Caps had come back from as many as three down to tie the game and send it into extra frames only to lose it in extra innings.
Brandon Timm was the hitting star. He went three for five with a triple, an RBI and a run.
Matt O’Brien improved to 7-2 on the season with a nice start in the White Caps 7-2 win over Wisconsin. He gave up two runs (one earned) on eight hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings.

Lauren Gagnier improved to 5-11 on the season in the White Caps 5-1 win over Clinton. He gave up just one run on four hit and two walks with six strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Duane Below improved to 10-5 on the season with a nice start in the White Caps 7-3 win over Clinton. He gave up one run on five hits and three walks with nine strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
