This one was pretty ugly. Eddie Bonine fell to 0-3 on the season in the Hens 13-3 loss to Charlotte. He gave up seven runs on nine hits with 1 2/3 innings. Three relievers also gave up runs in the contest.
Marcus Thames had another nice game and he went four for five. Ryan Roberson doubled, drove in a run and scored once while Don Kelly went two for five with a run.
Jeremy Bonderman looked like he was about ready to pitch for the Tigers as he was about as good as you could ask in the Hens 6-0 win over Charlotte. He gave up just six runs without a walk and he struck out five in eight shutout innings.
Marcus Thames showed some life with a solid game. He went two for three with a home run, two RBIs and two runs. Mike Hessman also pitched in with a two run shot.
The Hens lost to the Knights and once again they struggled to scored runs. Don Kelly continued his hot hitting and he went three for three while Will Rhymes went three for four with a walk but the rest of the team managed just three hits. One of the Hens runs came on Dusty Ryan’s solo homer in the second inning. It was his eighth of the year.
Brooks Brown took the loss and he fell to 0-3 since joining the Hens. He gave up three runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts in eight innings.
The Hens took care of Charlotte 5-1 and Lucas French got it done on the mound. He gave up just five hits and a walk with six strikeouts in seven shutout innings. Casey Fien gave up a run in his two frames but it was good enough for save number four.
Don Kelly led the way at the plate and he went two for four with a double, two RBIs and a run. Brent Dlugach went two for three with a walk and an RBI.
Ron Chiavacci gave up a run in the top of the tenth and he took the loss as the Hens lost to Norfolk 7-6. This was after a rough start by Rudy Lugo. He gave up five runs (four earned) on nine hits and two walks with a strikeout in 5 1/3 innings.
The offense kept the Hens in this one and it was Dusty Ryan who led the way. He went four for five with two doubles, a home run and two runs scored. Jeff Frazier went three for five with a double and a run.
The Hens lost to Norfolk and Eddie Bonine gave up the brunt of the damage. He gave up four runs on five hits and four walks with two strikeouts in six innings and the loss dropped him to 0-2.
Don Kelly went three for four in the loss. Wilkin Ramirez tripled and scored a run.
The Hens were held to just six hits in a 2-0 loss at the hands of the Charlotte Knights. Jeff Frazier doubled and singled and Don Kelly singled twice to lead the way at the plate in the mediocre offensive outing.

The Mud Hens were held to just five hits as they lost another one to the Charlotte Knights 5-2. Three of those hits came from Wilkin Ramirez and he drove in one of the two runs with a solo homer in the fifth inning. Jeff Frazier singled and he scored the other run.
Chris Lambert took the loss and he fell to 1-5. He gave up five runs on six hits and three walks with eight strikeouts in six innings.
Wilkin Ramirez had a big day at the plate but it wasn’t enough as the Hens lost to Charlotte 9-8. He went four for five with two homers, three RBIs and three runs. Mike Hessman went three for five with a double and a solo homer.
Freddy Dolsi gave up four runs in the bottom of the ninth and he took the loss. This was after a mediocre start by Scott Drucker, who gave up four runs on twelve hits and one walk with three strikeouts in six innings.
Scott Drucker improved to 2-2 on the season in the Hens 9-2 win over Lehigh Valley. He gave up two runs on six hits and one walk with eight strikeouts in six innings. Ron Chiavacci threw three shutout innings and he picked up his first save of the season.
Jeff Frazier homered and drove in three runs. Danny Worth went three for four with two runs.
The Hens lost to Lehigh Valley 5-3 and it was Ruddy Lugo who took the loss. He fell to 2-3 and he gave up four runs on six hits and four walks with two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Mike Hessman had a big game at the plate. He doubled three times and drove in two runs. Don Kelly went two for two with two walks and two runs.
The Mud Hens scored a grand total of three runs, and no more then one per game, in their four game set against the Pawtucket Red Sox. Not surprisingly, the Hens lost all four games and today was another blowout. Chris Lambert had a rough start and he fell to 1-3. He gave up seven runs on nine hits and a walk with three strikeouts in just three innings.
Danny Worth was two for five and he drove in the lone Hens run. Will Rhymes singled and he scored the lone run.
The Hens offensive struggled against the Red Sox continued with a 2-1 loss last night. Brent Clevlen once again led the way at the plate. He doubled, drew a walk and scored the lone run for Toledo. Ryan Roberson doubled, drew a walk and drove in the one run.
Dontrelle Willis made his second rehab start and this time, things went a little better. He gave up two runs on five hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.
The Hens had a tough time at the plate in their 6-0 loss to Pawtucket and with just six hits, the team couldn’t put a single runnner across the place. Brent Clevlen had three of those hits with a double and two singles and the only other Hen to reach base twice was Mike Hessman with two walks. They did have to face Dice- K in a rehab outing but that’s only part of the reason because he threw just 2 2/3 innings.
Ruddy Lugo took the loss and he fell to 2-2. He gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits and five walks with four strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.
