The Hens came back from a 7-4 deficit to beat the Clippers 8-7. Brent Dlugach went three for three with a walk, a double, a triple and two runs. Scott Sizemore went two for four with double, a walk and two RBIs while Mike Hessman went two for five with a double, a home run and three RBIs. Hessman has finally found his stroke since the All Star Break. Prior to that, he had an OPS of .678 and since it’s .933. He’s also hit nine home runs since the break in 33 games versus 10 in 80 games prior to the break. August has been his best month (1.012 OPS) so hopefully he gives the Hens a strong finish.
Scott Drucker was hammered for seven runs in three innings. Zach Simons threw two shutout innings of relief and he improved to 2-0 while Casey Fien threw a shutout ninth to pick up save number twelve.
The Hens took care of the SWB Yankees 8-7 in a game that saw the two teams combine for 28 hits. Jeff Larish went two for three with two doubles, two walks and three runs. Scott Sizemore went two for five with a solo home run and two runs.

Wilkin Ramirez had a big day at the plate but it wasn’t enough as the Hens lost to Charlotte 9-8. He went four for five with two homers, three RBIs and three runs. Mike Hessman went three for five with a double and a solo homer.
Freddy Dolsi gave up four runs in the bottom of the ninth and he took the loss. This was after a mediocre start by Scott Drucker, who gave up four runs on twelve hits and one walk with three strikeouts in six innings.
Scott Drucker improved to 2-2 on the season in the Hens 9-2 win over Lehigh Valley. He gave up two runs on six hits and one walk with eight strikeouts in six innings. Ron Chiavacci threw three shutout innings and he picked up his first save of the season.
Jeff Frazier homered and drove in three runs. Danny Worth went three for four with two runs.
The Mud Hens continued their winning ways with a close one against the Bats. The Hens jumped out to a 4-0 lead but two in the eighth and one in the ninth by the Bats made this one a close one. Scott Drucker looked very good and he improved to 1-0. He gave up just three hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in six shutout innings. Not a bad couple of starts for someone who wasn’t really on the Tigers propect radar.
Casey Fien gave up a run on two hits in 1 1/3 innings to pick up save number one. Mike Hessman went three for five with an RBI in the 4-3 win while Ryan Raburn drew three walks, stole a base and scored twice.
