The White Caps took care of business with their backs against the wall in a 11-0 win over South Bend. The win forces a winner take all game three tomorrow. Thad Weber was outstanding and he gave up just two hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six shutout innings. Andrew Hess threw a shutout seventh and Orlando Perdomo closed out the game with two shutout frames.
Alex Avila went two for five with three RBIs and a run. Roger Tomas went three for four with a double and two runs while Justin Henry went three for four with two runs and two RBIs.
The White Caps managed just five hits in a 6-1 loss to South Bend today. The lone run came on a solo shot by Casper Wells. Roger Tomas was the only hitter to reach base twice with a pair of singles.
Jonathan Kibler fell to 5-2 on the season. He gave up four runs on six hits with eight strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings.
Roger Tomas singled home Casper Wells in the bottom of the ninth as the White Caps topped the Dragons 3-2. Tomas finished the game three for three while Christopher Carlson belted a solo homer.
Lauren Gagnier had a solid start in the win. He gave up two unearned runs on six hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Mauricio Robles threw 2 2/3 perfect innings and he picked up the win.
Roger Tomas singled home Kyle Peter in the top of the ninth inning and that turned out to be the game winner in the White Caps 5-4 win over South Bend. Ron Bourquin had a nice day at the plate and he doubled, drew two walks and drove in a run while Tomas finished with two runs and two RBIs.
Wilton Garcia picked up the win and he improved to 2-1 despite the tying run scoring on him. Noah Krol pitched a perfect ninth and he picked up his fifth save of the season.
Alfredo Figaro continued his impressive season and he improved to 6-1 with another really nice start in the White Caps 4-1 win over South Bend. He gave up just two hits with five walks and five strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.
Roger Tomas went two for four with an RBI. Audy Ciriaco singled twice and scored a run.
Noah Krol blew his first save of the season and he gave up a pair of runs in the ninth inning in a 2-1 loss to Kane County. To his credit, a throwing error by Roger Tomas on a bunt in the ninth inning didn’t help things.
Kyle Peter went two for four with a walk, a double and a run. Joseph Bowen singled, doubled, drew a walk and scored.
Alfredo Figaro had one of the best starts of the season for the White Caps and he improved to an impressive 4-0 on the season. He gave up just three hits with eleven strikeouts in the shutout win and his ERA is now down to a microscopic 0.46. Opponents are hitting just .159 against him and if he continues at this pace, it’s not going to make a lot of sense keeping him down while he dominates Low-A hitting.
Roger Tomas had a pair of singles and a run in the 4-0 win. Mark McBratney singled, tripled and scored a run.
Ramon Garcia improved to 2-2 on the season with a very nice start in the Caps 2-1 win over Beloit. He gave up one run on six hits with four strikeouts in eight innings.
Roger Tomas was the hitting star in the win. He went three for three with a run.
Roger Tomas drove home Casper Wells in the bottom of the eleventh inning with a sac. fly to win it for the White Caps 6-5. Tomas finished the game with a pair of RBIs while Justin Henry tripled and drove in two runs.
Jonathan Kibler threw seven solid innings and while he didn’t get the win, he did keep the White Caps in the win. He gave up two runs on six hits with five strikeouts. Paul Nardozzi improved to 2-0 with a shutout inning in the eleventh.
Alfredo Figaro got it done on the mound and he improved to 2-0 in the White Caps 5-1 win over Peoria. He gave up just one unearned run on four hits and four walks with eight strikeouts in seven innings.
Roger Tomas belted his first homerun of the season and he drove in two runs. Jordan Newton and Joseph Tucker both had three hits and a run in the win.
The GCL Tigers got plenty of offense in their 9-8 win over the GCL Phillies but it was Roger Tomas who had a particularly good game. He went two for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Joaquin Guzman went two for three with a double, two RBIs and a run.
Jonathan Kibler picked up the win and he improved to 1-0 on the season. He gave up a single hit in one shutout inning of relief.
Roger Tomas had a big day at the plate in the GCL Tigers 5-2 win over the GCL Blue Jays. All three of hits were doubles and he scored two runs. Hayden Parrott singled and he drove in two runs.
Brandon Johnson had another nice outing and he improved to 2-2 on the season. He gave up just three hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 6 1/3 shutout innings.
