Decent starts by Kyle Sleeth have been few and far between and while he put together a decent game, it turned out to be a no-decision when Ricky Steik was shelled for six runs in the sixth inning. Steik fell to 2-9 on the season and he gave up the six runs (just two of them were earned, but the error was his own throwing error) on four hits.
Deik Scram was the hitting star in the 8-3 loss. He went three for four with a solo homerun and he scored all three Lakeland runs.
Lakeland lost 4-3 to Palm Beach and it was Ricky Steik who gave up the run in the bottom of the ninth. He dropped to 2-8 on the season and a pretty good start by Kyle Sleeth went to waste. Sleeth gave up three runs (two earned) on two hits and five walks with two strikeouts in six innings of work.
Justin Justice doubled twice and drove in a run. Daniel Worth singled twice, drew a walk and scored a run.
Kyle Sleeth fell to 0-3 for Lakeland and he didn’t even last through the second inning as Lakeland lost 8-4. Sleeth gave up three runs on four hits and three walks with one strikeout in 1 2/3 innings. Ricky Steik wasn’t much better and he gave up four runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief.
William Rhymes was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for three with a two run homer.
Michael Hernandez belted a pair of homers and he drove in four runs in Lakeland’s 7-6 loss to Sarasota. William Rhymes also had a nice game and he went two for three with two walks and a run.
Ricky Steik took the the loss and he fell to 2-7 on the season. He gave up a couple of hits and a run in the bottom of the tenth inning.
Lakeland got plenty of offense in their 8-3 win over Brevard County. Michael Hernandez led the way with a game high four RBIs. He went two for five with a homerun. Cameron Maybin went two for five with a triple, an RBI and two runs and Ovandy Suero singled, stole his 53rd base and scored a run.
Ricky Steik picked up his first win of the season with three shutout innings of relief. He gave up two hits and he struck out one.
Lakeland lost 5-3 but Ryan Roberson had a pretty impressive day at the plate. He went three for four with three doubles, an RBI and a run. Ovandy Suero had two hits and he stole his 50th base of the season while Michael Hernandez doubled twice and scored a run.
A pretty good start by Lucas French went to waste in the loss. He gave up two runs on six hits and one walk with five strikeouts in six innings. Ricky Steik gave up a run in two innings and he fell to 5-5.
Lakeland lost their third straight game in a 2-1 pitcher’s duel to Tampa. Ricky Steik gave up just one run in four solid relief innings but he still took the loss because of the lack of offense.
Wilkin Ramirez was a perfect four for four in the loss. Ryan Roberson singled and drove in the only run for the Flying Tigers.
A very nice start by Andrew Miller went to waste as the bullpen gave up five late runs in Lakeland’s 5-4 loss to Dunedin. Miller gave up five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings. Gabriel Bentitez gave up three runs in an inning and Ricky Steik gave up the tying and go ahead run in the eighth as he took the loss.
Michael Hernandez belted his fourth homerun of the season and he drove in two runs. Cameron Maybin singled twice and scored a run in the 5-4 loss.
