Lakeland got back to losing as they were held to five hits in a 3-1 loss to Dunedin. Ovandy Suero doubled and he scored the only run of the game for the Tigers.
Lucas French fell to 5-13 with the loss. He gave up two runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts in six innings.
Lakeland didn’t have to play a doubleheader but the end result was the same as the lost another one to Clearwater 4-2. Ovandy Suero tripled and scored a run while Maxwell Leon singled, scored and drove in a run.
Kyle Sleeth dropped to 0-5 with a rough start. He gave up four runs on nine hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
Things didn’t go well for Lakeland in their first of two doubleheaders against Clearwater. In the first game, the Flying Tigers were shutout on six hits. Maxwell Leon went two for three and Eleazar Aponte took the loss despite a decent start. He gave up two runs on nine hits with two strikeouts in six innings of work.
Lakeland actually scored in the second game but the two runs weren’t enough in the 6-2 loss. Ovandy Suero went three for four with two runs and he also stole three bases to bring his season total up to 71. Josh Rainwater took the loss and he fell to 1-1. He gave up three runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
Lakeland continued their struggles and they dropped their third straight game in a pitchers’ duel with St. Lucie. Burke Badenhop gave up just one unearned run in 7 1/3 innings but for his struggles, he didn’t get a win. Freddy Dolsi gave up two runs in ninth inning and he fell to 4-3 on the season in the 3-2 loss.
Cameron Maybin belted a solo homerun, his tenth of the season. Ovandy Suero singled twice and he stole his 67th base of the season.
Burke Badenhop improved to 10-5 on the season with a nice start in Lakeland’s 3-2 win over Fort Myers. He gave up one run on five hits and three hits and five strikeouts in six innings of work.
Ovandy Suero was the hitting star in the win. He went two for four with a run. He was caught stealing for the seventeenth time and he’s still stuck at 63 on the season.
Lakeland edged Palm Beach 3-2 and it was Daniel Worth who drove in all of the Flying Tigers’ runs. He went two for three with a double. Ovandy Suero doubled and he scored two runs in the win.
Angel Castro threw seven quality innings in his start. He gave up two runs on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Jacob Ramos picked up the win despite allowing the inherited tying run to score.
Angel Castro improved to 3-0 on the season with a spectacular start against the Sarasota Cubs in their 4-3 win. He gave up two runs on nine hits with three strikeouts in seven solid innings.
Ovandy Suero singled and he stole two more bases to bring his season total up to 57. Justin Justice was the hitting star though and he went three for four with a two run homer.
Lakeland got plenty of offense in their 8-3 win over Brevard County. Michael Hernandez led the way with a game high four RBIs. He went two for five with a homerun. Cameron Maybin went two for five with a triple, an RBI and two runs and Ovandy Suero singled, stole his 53rd base and scored a run.
Ricky Steik picked up his first win of the season with three shutout innings of relief. He gave up two hits and he struck out one.
Lakeland lost 5-3 but Ryan Roberson had a pretty impressive day at the plate. He went three for four with three doubles, an RBI and a run. Ovandy Suero had two hits and he stole his 50th base of the season while Michael Hernandez doubled twice and scored a run.
A pretty good start by Lucas French went to waste in the loss. He gave up two runs on six hits and one walk with five strikeouts in six innings. Ricky Steik gave up a run in two innings and he fell to 5-5.
Burke Badenhop fell to 3-4 on the season with a rough start in Lakeland’s 11-2 loss to Dunedin. He gave up six runs (three earned) on eight hits with a strikeout in three innings. Alfredo Figaro was also hit hard and he gave up four runs in 2 2/3 innings. Maxwell Leon provided all of the offense in the loss. He doubled and drove in two runs.
In the second game, the Flying Tigers edged Dunedin 3-2. Cameron Maybin hit a solo homerun (his third of the season) and William Rhymes also went yard. Ovandy Suero continued his rampage of the base paths and he had two hits and two steals to bring his steal total up to 49 on the season. Paul Hammond picked up the win with a shutout fifth inning.
The Flying Tigers lost both of their games in a twin billing against Tampa. In the first game, it was a lack of hitting that cost them in a 3-1 loss. Cameron Maybin doubled and he drove home the only run for Lakeland while Alfredo Figaro dropped to 0-3 when he gave up three runs in 5 1/3 innings.
In the second game, Matt O’Brien was hit hard for five runs in 2 2/3 innings and he fell to 0-3 on the season in the 6-3 loss. Ovandy Suero was a perfect four for four and he racked up his 47th stolen base of the season. He was also caught for the eleventh time.
Lakeland got some nice pitching in their two game sweep over Brevard Couny. In the first game, Kyle Sleeth gave up one unearned run in four innings and Paul Hammond picked up the win with a shutout frame in the sixth. This was Sleeth’s first start since getting demoted after a tough stretch pitching for Erie. William Rhymes was the hitting star and he went three for four with an RBI
The second game was a 4-2 win and Alfredo Figaro threw five innings and gave up one run in a nice start. Jacob Ramos picked up the win and he improved to 4-1 while Ovandy Suero went two for four with a run and three stolen bases. The three steals brings his season total up to 42.
Burke Badenhop gave up two runs on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts in seven innings in his start for Lakeland. The win improved his record to 5-3 after the 9-2 win.
Ovandy Suero had another nice game at the plate. He went three for three with two RBIs and two runs.
Lakeland lost 3-2 and the three runs they gave up all came in the ninth inning off of Freddy Dolsi. Because of those runs, a nice start by Eleazar Aponte was wasted. He gave up six hits and three walks with five strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Ovandy Suero was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with a run, an RBI and he stole his 39th base of the season.
The Flying Tigers lost 9-6 to Palm Beach and the pen gave up six of the nine runs. Jacob Ramos gave up three runs and he took the loss and then Derek Witt gave up three more to seal the deal.
Wilkin Ramirez went three for four with a triple, two RBIs and a run. Ovandy Suero walked twice, scored two runs and he stole his 38th base of the season.
Lakeland doubled up Palm Beach 8-4 and it was Ovandy Suero who got it done at the plate. He went three for five with three RBIs and a run. He also stole yet another base and his league leading season total is now up to 35. If there’s a knock, it’s he’s been caught seven times but you still have to like that percentage since it’s well over the 75% mark that makes the stolen base worth it.

Lakeland edged Dunedin 4-3 in ten innings to win their fifth straight game. Matt O’Brien was decent in his start and he gave up just one run in 4 2/3 innings while Freddy Dolsi picked up the win with a shutout tenth.
Ovandy Suero picked up two more hits and stole another base to give him 30 already this season. Wilkin Ramirez went two for four with a triple, two RBIs and a run.
Lucas French improved to 3-1 on the season in Lakeland’s 2-1 win with six shutout innings. He gave up five hits and a walk and he struck out five.
Ovandy Suero was the hitting star and he went two for two with two walks and he scored one of the runs. Cameron Maybin didn’t reach base, but he drove in a run with a sac. fly.
Burke Badenhop was red hot out of the game but then he struggled until his previous start. He got it done again today as he shut down the Sarasota Reds in Lakelands’ 8-1 win. He gave up just one runs on four hits and five walks with two strikeouts in six innings of work.
Ovandy Suero had a nice day at the plate. He went two for four with two RBIs and a run. Maxwell Leon went two for three with two RBIs and a run while Cameron Maybin reached base for the seventh straight game with a hit and a walk.
Lakeland lost 5-3 and all three runs were scored by Ovandy Suero. He went two for three with a walk and the three runs. Cameron Maybin went one for three with a walk and an RBI and he now has a hit in each of his last five games.
Matthew Righter was hit hard and he took the loss. He gave up five runs on six hits and a walk in just four innings of work.
