Oneonta won their season final behind a really nice start by Clemente Mendoza. He gave up six hits and he struck out four in seven shutout innings and the win gave him a 5-5 record on the season. Michael Torrealba pitched two shutout innings to close out the game and he picked up his second save of the season.
Jamie Johnson belted a solo home run, his third of the season. Jimmy Gulliver singled and scored a run.
The Tigers scored a run in the ninth to take the lead only to see Kenny Faulk give up two unearned runs in the bottom of the ninth as Oneonta lost a tough one 3-2. A solid start by Nate Newman went to waste. He gave up one run on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts in five innings. Jose Ortega threw three shutout innings of relief and he struck out three.
Jamie Johnson went two for four with a double and a triple. Matthew Mansilla belted a solo home run and he drew a walk.
Oneonta couldn’t get much going at the plate as they lost to Hudson Valley 3-1. Luis Palacios was one of the lone hitters to really get things going and he went two for three with a walk and a run.
Luis Sanz took the loss and he fell to 5-4. He gave up three runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings.
Oneonta’s season is winding down and they added two more losses yesterday. Game one was an ugly 13-0 beatdown in which Jose Siso took the loss. He gave up eleven runs on twelve hits and three walks with one strikeout in 1 2/3 innings. Jamie Johnson went two for three and he had two of the five Oneonta hits.
Game two didn’t go much better and that was a 6-2 loss. Johnson tripled while Michael Rockett and Alexis Espinoza both singled and scored a run. Mike LaLuna fell to 3-5 and he gave up three runs on four hits and three hits with five strikeouts in four innings.
Oneonta was blown out 10-0 by Hudson Valley in an ugly game. Clemente Mendoza fell to 4-5 with a rough start although he wasn’t the only one knocked around. He gave up six runs on eight hits and two walks in three innings.
Rawley Bishop was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with a triple. Eric Roof pitched in with a double.
