The Hens pen gave up three of the Chiefs five runs as a solid outing by Yorman Bazardo went to waste. Brian Rogers gave up two runs in his inning of work and he fell to 0-2 while Matt Rusch gave up a run in the eighth that helped seal the deal.
Matt Joyce went two for three with two doubles, a walk, a run and an RBI. Nick Trzesniak doubled and drove in two runs.
Three different Hens belted a pair of homeruns as Toledo ran up the score in a 10-0 beating over the Clippers. Michael Hollimon, TImo Perez and Nick Trzesniak all belted two homeruns while Freddy Guzman belted his first since he got bumped up to Toledo.
Lost in all of the offense was an impressive start by Casey Fossum. He gave up just three hits and a walk with ten strikeouts in seven shutout innings and he improved to 2-0.
The Hens beat Rochester 8-4 and it was Brent Clevlen and Nick Trzesniak who both drove in the bulk of the runs. Clevlen doubled and drove in three while Trzesniak singled twice and drove in three. Erick ALmonte was the only Mud Hen with two hits in the contest.
Eddie Bonine remained undefeated and he improved to 6-0 on the season. He gave up four runs on six hits with four strikeouts.
Erie scored two runs in the ninth inning to take care of Harrisburg 5-4. Michael Hernandez singled, drove in two and scored a run. Nick Trzesniak went two for five with a double and an RBI.
Anthony Tomey improved to 3-0 on the season. He gave up two hits with two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.
Andrew Kown improved to 5-8 on the season with a nice start in Erie’s 4-2 loss to Bowie. He gave up one run on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts in seven solid innings.
Michael Hernandez belted his first homerun since getting called up to Erie. Nick Trzesniak pitched in with a two run homer.
Erie lost to Akron 7-6 and a throwing error by Kody Kirkland resulted in three unearned runs in the loss. Andrew Kown was roughed up in his start and he gave up six runs (three earned) on ten hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Danny Zell took the loss and he gave up one run in 2/3 of an inning.
Nick Trzesniak went two for four with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs. Jackson Melian went three for four with a double, a triple, an RBI and a run.
