Brent Dlugach had a monster day at the plate as the Hens dismantled the Clippers 12-4. He went three for four with a double, two home runs, three RBIs and three runs. Wilkin Ramirez belted a solo home run and he scored twice while Brent Clevlen went two for five with two runs and two RBIs.
Scot Drucker picked up the win and he improved to 6-2. He gave up four runs on seven hits and four walks with two strikeouts in six innings. Matt Rusch gave up one hit in three shutout innings and he picked up his first save of the season.
The Hens and Bulls almost played two games as they finished a 15 inning marathon after over four and a half hours. Matt Rusch took the loss and he fell to 2-3 after he gave up a pair of runs in the top of the fifteenth. A solid start by Lucas French went to waste and he gave up two runs on five hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in seven innings.
Brent Dlugach went just one for six but his one hit was a two run blast. Brent Clevlen went two for five with a walk and a run.
Dontrelle Willis threw just one inning before Matt Rusch took over to throw five shutout frames in the Hens 3-2 win over Richmond. He improved to 3-0 and he gave up just one hit with four strikeouts.
Freddy Guzman went two for four with an RBI. Maxwell Leon went two for two with two runs.
Lucas French didn’t get the decision, but he threw a very nice game in the SeaWolves 3-1 win over Akron. He gave up five hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six shutout innings. Matt Rusch blew the save, but earned the win and he gave up just a solo homer in two innings of relief.
Ryan Roberson belted a two run homer in the win. Louis Ott went two for three with a double.
The Hens pen gave up three of the Chiefs five runs as a solid outing by Yorman Bazardo went to waste. Brian Rogers gave up two runs in his inning of work and he fell to 0-2 while Matt Rusch gave up a run in the eighth that helped seal the deal.
Matt Joyce went two for three with two doubles, a walk, a run and an RBI. Nick Trzesniak doubled and drove in two runs.
The Hens found themselves down 6-0 in the fourth inning only to storm back with seven unanswered runs to pick up the win. Timo Perez doubled twice and drove in two while Brent Clevlen went two for five with a double, two RBIs and two runs.
Eddie Bonine was hit hard and he gave up all six runs. Matt Rusch struck out five in three no-hit innings to improve to 2-0 and Blaine Neal pitched a shutout ninth to pick up his sixteenth save.
The Hens needed all three of their eighth inning runs to top the Clippers tonight. Clete Thomas was the hitting star in this one. He went two for three with a double, a homerun and two RBIs. Mike Hessman was avoided and he drew two walks and scored a run.
Matt Rusch pitched a shutout eighth inning and he improved to 1-0. Blaine Neal pitched a perfect ninth and he picked up save number 15.
