Lakeland had another tough game and while they picked up eleven hits, they only pushed two runners across the plate. Justin Justice went three for four with a double and an RBI while Mark Haske singled three times in the 8-2 loss.
Jeremy Lewis took the loss and he fell to 0-2. He gave up three runs on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in two innings of relief.
Lakeland couldn’t get much going at the plate in their 5-1, rain shortened loss to Vero Beach. Mark Haske drove in the only run for Lakeland and Deik Scram reached base three times with a single and two walks.
Lucas French fell to 5-10 with a tough start. He gave up four runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with one strikeout in five innings of work.
The Flying Tigers lost to Sarasota 2-1 and it was pretty much due to a lack of offense. Mark Haske belted a solo homerun in the sixth inning and that was pretty much it. The other three hits were singles by different hitters.
A pretty good start by Eleazar Aponte went to waste. He gave up just one run on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six innings. Brendan Wise gave up a ninth inning run and he took the loss.
Gabriel Benitez was tagged for four runs in just one inning of work and he took the defeat in Lakeland’s 6-4 loss. He fell to 1-2 on the season.
Ryan Roberson went two for four with a double and two runs. Cameron Maybin doubled and drove in a run while Mark Haske was two for two with an RBI.
Lakeland lost to Tampa 8-3 but Cameron Maybin had a big day at the plate. He went two for five with two solo homers in the loss. The only other Flying Tiger to drive in a run was Mark Haske, who punched one in with a sac. fly.
Matt O’Brien was hit hard and he took the loss. He gave up seven runs on eight hits and four walks in 3 2/3 innings.
A lot of Flying Tigers contributed today in their 8-7 win over Sarasota. Mark Haske tripled and he drove in three runs. Cameron Maybin went one for three with two walks, two RBIs and a run while Justin Justice went two for five with a two run homer.
Gabriel Benetiz picked up the win with 1 1/3 shutout innings. Freddy Dolsi picked up his third save despite giving up a run in the ninth.
Burke Badenhop had his first rough start of the season as Lakeland lost to Sarasota 7-2. He did give up four runs but only one of them was earned although he was touched up for six hits and three walks in five innings. Matthew Righter was hit hard as well and he gave up three runs in one inning while Gabriel Benitiz struck out the side in the ninth.
Cameron Maybin picked up another two hits and he scored a run. He’s now boosted his batting average up to .321 after a tough start. Mark Haske singled twice and scored a run.
