Ruddy Lugo improved to 4-4 on the season with a solid start in the Hens 5-2 win over the Durham Bulls. He gave up two runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings. Clay Rapada threw three shutout innings and he struck out four to earn his fourth save of the season.
Dusty Ryan belted a two run homer in the win. Wil Rhymes and Marcus Thames both went yard with solo shots.
This one was pretty ugly. Eddie Bonine fell to 0-3 on the season in the Hens 13-3 loss to Charlotte. He gave up seven runs on nine hits with 1 2/3 innings. Three relievers also gave up runs in the contest.
Marcus Thames had another nice game and he went four for five. Ryan Roberson doubled, drove in a run and scored once while Don Kelly went two for five with a run.
Jeremy Bonderman looked like he was about ready to pitch for the Tigers as he was about as good as you could ask in the Hens 6-0 win over Charlotte. He gave up just six runs without a walk and he struck out five in eight shutout innings.
Marcus Thames showed some life with a solid game. He went two for three with a home run, two RBIs and two runs. Mike Hessman also pitched in with a two run shot.
Yorman Bazardo improved to 10-5 on the season with a nice start in the Mud Hens 5-2 win over Norfolk. He gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk with one strikeout in eight innings of work.
Marcus Thames was the hitting star in his final rehab game. He went two for four with a solo homerun. Chris Shelton went yard with a solo shot and he scored two runs.
