The SeaWolves have found their groove now and last night they won their third straight game. Jon Kibler improved to 1-2 with a solid start. He gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings. Luis Marte pitched two shutout innings and he struck out three to pick up his first save of the season.
Andy Dirks, Wilkin Ramirez and Deik Scram all went yard in the 5-3 win. Ramirez went three for five with a double, a home run, two RBIs and two runs.
So much for the Eastern League being a hitters league at least for the SeaWolves. They once again were shut down at the plate and were held to four hits in all in a 4-1 loss to Trenton. Andy Dirks doubled, drew a walk and scored the lone run. Justin Henry doubled as well.
A solid start by Thad Weber went to waste. He gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Luis Marte pitched 1 1/3 innnings and he didn’t allow a baserunner.
Erie had the lead in the ninth in this one but Cody Satterwhite gave up a run in the bottom of the ninth and then Josh Kite gave up a run in the bottom of the eleventh in a 6-5 loss. Kite fell to 2-4 and Luis Marte took a no-decision in his start. He gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings.
Deik Scram went two for five with three runs. Casper Wells went two for five with a two run homer.
Luis Marte put a solid start together and he improved to 3-5 in the SeaWolves 7-2 win over Akron. He gave up just a single run on two hits and four walks with three strikeouts. This is Marte’s best start in a while so hopefully he’ll be able to keep this up.
Ryan Strieby continued to rake an he went two for five with a triple, two RBIs and a run. Scott Sizemore went three for four with a walk, a run and an RBI.
The SeaWolves had a tough time at the plate and they managed just five hits in an 8-1 loss to Akron. Brennan Boesch had two of those hits to lead they way. He doubled, tripled and scored the lone Erie run.
Luis Marte had a rough start but the two errors didn’t help much. He fell to 2-5 and he gave up eight runs (just three earned) on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Luis Marte fell to 2-4 on the season with a rough start in Erie’s 7-4 loss to Harrisburg. He gave up all seven runs on seven hits and four walks with seven strikeouts in six innings.
Ryan Strieby hit his eleventh home run of the season and Scott Sizemore went yard with his seventh. Sizemore also singled, drew a walk and he finished with two runs.
The SeaWolves lost to the Curve and it was Luis Marte who took some lumps. He fell to 0-2 and he gave up six runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts in five innings. Josh Kite gave up a run in three innings out of the pen.
The bulk of Erie’s offense came from Jeff Frazier. He went two for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Ryan Strieby went two for four with a double, a walk and two runs.
Luis Marte fell to 0-1 since being pushed up to Erie in a tough start. He gave up four runs on six hits and six walks with four strikeouts in just 4 1/3 innings.
Ryan Roberson belted a two run homer in the sixth inning of the 8-4 loss. Justin Justice went two for three with a run and an RBI.
Erie had a tough time getting anything done at the plate and a nice start by Luis Marte went to waste. He gave up one run on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in eight innings of work.
The SeaWolves scored their lone run via the longball. Wilkin Ramirez went deel in the fourth inning with a solo shot. It was his ninth homer of the season.
Scott Sizemore had an impressive day at the plate as the Flying Tigers took care of the St. Lucie Mets 8-3. He went two for four with a walk, a homerun, four RBIs and three runs. Justin Justice went two for four with a walk and two runs.
Luis Marte picked up the win and he improved to 3-1. He gave up three runs (two earned) on eight hits with three strikeouts in six innings.
Lakeland blew a three run lead when Brendan Wise and Juan Cedeno combined to give up four runs in the eighth inning. Wise took the loss and he fell to 0-3 and it was too bad because a very nice start by Luis Marte went to waste. Marte gave up four hits with four strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
Jeramy Laster went three for four with double but he was picked off and caught stealing in the game. Brennan Boesch drove two runs on a pair of sac. flies.
Luis Marte improved to 2-1 with a very solid start in the Flying Tigers 3-1 win over Dunedin. He gave up one unearned run on three hits and a walk with eleven strikeouts in seven innings.
Ryan Strieby went two for four with a double and two RBIs. Scott Sizemore went two for four with two runs.
Luis Marte had an exceptional start and he improvd to 1-1 as the Flying Tigers took care of Tampa 4-1. Marte gave up just two hits and four walks with seven strikeouts in eight shutout innings.
Jeramy Laster was the hitting star. He went two for four with a double, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
The White Caps won the Midwest League championship for the second straight year as they came back from a 5-3 deficit to score eight runs in the fifth inning to turn the game into a rout. Michael Bertram went three for five with a triple, two RBIs and a run while Scott Sizemore went three for five with an RBI and two runs.
Charles Furbush was roughed up and he gave up five runs in just two innings. Luis Marte was impressive though and he threw five shutout innings of relief in which he struck out nine runs.
The White Caps took care of the Loons in a 9-4 beatdown. Santo De Leon led the way for West Michigan and he went two for four with three RBIs and two runs. Brennan Boesch had another nice game and he went two for three with a walk, an RBI and two runs.

Luis Marte improved to 2-0 on the season with a nice start in the GCL Tigers 8-1 win over the GLC Blue Jays. He gave up one run on six hits and a walk with six strikeouts in seven innings.
Luis Arlet went two for five with a triple, a homerun and two RBIs. Christopher White drew two walks, stole two bases and scored two runs in the win.
What makes the GCL Tigers 10-0 blowout win over the GCL Yankees was that the game was cut short because of rain after just five innings. Carlos Ramirez went three for four with a double, a homerun and four RBIs. Brent Clevlen went three for three with an RBI and two runs.
Luis Marte picked up the win with five shutout innings. He gave up two hits and he struck out six.
