The GCL Tigers lost their final game of the season 2-1 to the GCL Phillies. Gary Perinar fell to 0-3 and he gave up two runs on four hits with four strikeouts. Robert Diaz struck out three in two shutout innings of relief.
Luis Castillo went one for four with an RBI. Londell Taylor went one for two with aa walk and a run.
Rayni Guichardo improved to 4-4 on the season with a really nice start in the GCL Tigers 1-0 win over the GCL Blue Jays. He gave up three hits and three walks with five strikeouts in six shutout innings. Melvin Mercedes threw a shutout ninth and he picked up his fifteenth save of the season.
Brett Anderson led the way at the plate and he went two for four and he scored the lone run of the game. Luis Castillo singled, drew a walk and drove in the lone run.
The GCL Tigers could muster just two hits as the lost to the GCL Blue Jays 4-2. Jordan Cruz accounted for the bulk of the Tigers offense with a two run blast in the seventh inning. The only other hit was a single by Luis Castillo.
A solid start by Rayni Guardado went to waste. He gave up three runs on seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings.
The GCL Tigers blew a 4-1 lead as they lost to the GCL Braves 5-4. Luis Castillo belted a solo home run. Alexander Nunez went two for four with a double and an RBI.
Richard Zumaya took the loss and he fell to 0-2. He gave up the tenth inning run on three hits in 1/3 of an inning. Nolan Cain had the best night on the mound and he gave up a hit with three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.
The GCL Tigers trailed for most of this game until they rallied for six runs in the top of the seventh inning to give them a 7-4 win. Elvin Soto went two for four with a double and an RBI while Luis Castillo went two for five with a run.
Marcos Nunez picked up the win although he was kind of the right place at the right time because he gave up two of the four Phillies run. Melvin Mercedes threw a shutout ninth and he picked up save number one.
