Scott Sizemore had an impressive day at the plate as the Flying Tigers took care of the St. Lucie Mets 8-3. He went two for four with a walk, a homerun, four RBIs and three runs. Justin Justice went two for four with a walk and two runs.
Luis Marte picked up the win and he improved to 3-1. He gave up three runs (two earned) on eight hits with three strikeouts in six innings.
Duane Below improved to 2-2 on the season with a nice start in the Flying Tigers 7-2 win over Dunedin. He gave up two runs on seven hits and four walks with six strikeouts in five innings.
Justin Justice got it done at the plate and he went three for four with a walk, a solo homer and two runs. Shawn Roof went two for four with a double, two RBIs and a run.
It’s tough when you blow a 9-3 lead but that’s what happened tonight as Lakeland lost to Fort Myers 10-9. Freddy Dolsi gave up a two run homer in the bottom of the ninth and that hit decided the game. Jordan Tata made his season debut after starting the season the disabled list. He gave up four runs and he walked four in just 2/3 of an inning.
Justin Justice was the hitting star in the loss. He went three for four with a three run homer and two runs.
Lakeland won their second game of the season behind some solid hitting by second baseman Scott Sizemore. The final was 4-3 and Sizemore went three for three with a walk, a run and an RBI. Justin Justice went two for three and he belted a two run homer.
Jonah Nickerson gave up two runs in 4 2/3 innings in his start. Ed Clelland gave up one run in 2 2/3 innings but he picked up the win.
Jeremy Lewis gave up a run in the tenth inning as Lakeland lost yet again to Sarasota 4-3. Freddy Dolsi gave up the tying run in the top of the ninth and it was unfortunate because a nice start by Angel Castro went to waste. He gave up two runs on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts in seven innings.
Justin Justice went two for three with a triple, a walk and a run. Rafael Mendez finished the game three for four.
Lakeland had another tough game and while they picked up eleven hits, they only pushed two runners across the plate. Justin Justice went three for four with a double and an RBI while Mark Haske singled three times in the 8-2 loss.
Jeremy Lewis took the loss and he fell to 0-2. He gave up three runs on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in two innings of relief.
Justin Justice scored on an error in the bottom of the ninth inning to win it for Lakeland. Up to that point, Maxwell Leon had been the most productive hitter. He went four for five with a double and two RBIs. Daniel Worth doubled three times and he drove in a run.
Freddy Dolsi improved to 5-3 with the win despite giving up three ninth inning runs to tie the game up in the top of the ninth. Kyle Sleeth gave up three runs in six innings in his start.
Angel Castro improved to 4-1 on the season with a fantastic start in Lakeland’s 6-1 win over Vero Beach. He gave up four walks and he struck out three in eight innings of no-hit ball.
Justin Justice was the hitting star in the win. He went three for four with two doubles, an RBI and two runs. Dusty Ryan went three for three with three RBIs and a run.
Lakeland lost 4-3 to Palm Beach and it was Ricky Steik who gave up the run in the bottom of the ninth. He dropped to 2-8 on the season and a pretty good start by Kyle Sleeth went to waste. Sleeth gave up three runs (two earned) on two hits and five walks with two strikeouts in six innings of work.
Justin Justice doubled twice and drove in a run. Daniel Worth singled twice, drew a walk and scored a run.
Lakeland couldn’t push a single runner across the plate in a 4-0 loss to Daytona. Justin Justice did what he could though with a nice day at the plate. He went two for two with a double and a walk.
A pretty good start by Lucas French went to waste in the loss. He gave up one run on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
Angel Castro improved to 3-0 on the season with a spectacular start against the Sarasota Cubs in their 4-3 win. He gave up two runs on nine hits with three strikeouts in seven solid innings.
Ovandy Suero singled and he stole two more bases to bring his season total up to 57. Justin Justice was the hitting star though and he went three for four with a two run homer.
Five singles were all the Flying Tigers could manage in their 4-0 loss to Fort Myers. Justin Justice had two of those and he reached base a third time with a walk.
Eleazar Aponte took the loss and he fell to 2-6. He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.

A lot of Flying Tigers contributed today in their 8-7 win over Sarasota. Mark Haske tripled and he drove in three runs. Cameron Maybin went one for three with two walks, two RBIs and a run while Justin Justice went two for five with a two run homer.
Gabriel Benetiz picked up the win with 1 1/3 shutout innings. Freddy Dolsi picked up his third save despite giving up a run in the ninth.
Lakeland lost 11-3 to Clearwater tonight and it was Sendy Vasquez who took the brunt of the offensive onslaught. He gave up eight runs (five earned) on nine hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
Cameron Maybin had the night off in this one. Justin Justice continued to hit the ball well and he went two for three with a triple, an RBI and a run.
Eleazar Aponte got it done on the mound today for the Flying Tigers. He held Sarasota to just three hits and two walks and he struck out five in six shutout innings. The win improved his record to 2-1.

Justin Justice had another great game with three RBIs in the Flying Tigers 7-5 win. Cameron Maybin went just one for three but he stole his seventh base in eight tries. Wilkin Ramirez was the only Lakeland hitter to go yard.
Sendy Vasquez had a rough start but the pen and the hitters picked him up. He gave up four runs on three hits and four walks with three strikeouts in five innings.
Lakeland ran up the score today a 13-6 win over Dunedin. Justin Justice led the way with a monster game. He went three for four with a triple, a homerun, six RBIs and two runs. Cameron Maybin had three hits, two RBIs and five runs while Michael Hernandez had three hits and three RBIs.
Eleazar Aponte picked up the easy win with all of the run support. He gave up four runs on four hits and three walk with a strikeout in six innings.
Andrew Miller held the Tampa Yankees to three hits in five shutout innings tonight in a rain shortened five inning game. He struck out three and didn’t give up a walk in a nice season debut.
Justin Justice hit a solo homerun and Michael Hernandez and Ryan Roberson both doubled and scored a run in the 3-0 win. Cameron Maybin went 0 for 2 in his Lakeland debut.
