Erie had the lead in the ninth in this one but Cody Satterwhite gave up a run in the bottom of the ninth and then Josh Kite gave up a run in the bottom of the eleventh in a 6-5 loss. Kite fell to 2-4 and Luis Marte took a no-decision in his start. He gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings.
Deik Scram went two for five with three runs. Casper Wells went two for five with a two run homer.
The Seawolves finally got to make up their games as they split a doubleheader with Harrisburg. In the first game, Erie used the long ball in a 9-6 win. Ryan Strieby hit his sixth and seventh home runs and he drove in four while Scott Sizemore and Santo De Leon both hit one home run a piece. Alfredo Figaro was touched up for five runs in 5 2/3 innings while Josh Kite picked up the win despite allowing the tying run (an inherited runner) to score).
Game two didn’t go quite as well as Erie blew a 6-0 lead and lost 7-6. Scott Sizemore hit another home run and Cale Iorg hit two solo shots (his first two of the season). Ramon Garcia pitched three shutout frames in his start before Zach Simons came in and gave up five runs.
The SeaWolves lost to the Curve and it was Luis Marte who took some lumps. He fell to 0-2 and he gave up six runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts in five innings. Josh Kite gave up a run in three innings out of the pen.
The bulk of Erie’s offense came from Jeff Frazier. He went two for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Ryan Strieby went two for four with a double, a walk and two runs.
