Lauren Gagnier had an exceptional start and he improved to 1-2 in the White Caps 6-1 win over Wisconsin. He gave up three hits and two walks with eleven strikeouts in six shutout inning.
Kyle Peter went three for five with a double and three runs. Joseph Tucker went four for five with a run and an RBI.
Six hits in eleven innings usually isn’t going to cut and despite some very solid pitching, the White Caps lost to Peoria 2-1 in eleven innings. Joseph Tucker was the hitting star. He went two for two with a walk and he drove in the lone run for West Michigan.
Santo Mieses took the loss and he fell to 1-2. He gave up just one run on two hits with a strikeout in 2 1/3 innings.
Alfredo Figaro got it done on the mound and he improved to 2-0 in the White Caps 5-1 win over Peoria. He gave up just one unearned run on four hits and four walks with eight strikeouts in seven innings.
Roger Tomas belted his first homerun of the season and he drove in two runs. Jordan Newton and Joseph Tucker both had three hits and a run in the win.
Joseph Tucker singled home Santo De Leon in the bottom of the ninth inning to win it for the White Caps. James Skelton went two for four with a double and two runs while Jeramy Laster went two for four with two RBIs.
Brett Jensen picked up the win and he improved to 5-1 despite giving up the tying run in the top of the ninth inning. Charles Furbush had another nice start and gave up two runs on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts in six frames.
Gorkys Hernandez drove home Audy Ciriaco in the bottom of the ninth inning to win it for the White Caps. Earlier in the inning, Ciriaco singled home the tying run in the 5-4 win. Joseph Tucker doubled twice and drove in two runs while Santo De Leon went two for two with a double, two walks and two runs.
Phil Napolitan picked up the win with two innings of shutout relief. He gave up a hit and he struck out four.
The White Caps couldn’t get much going at the plate as they were held to a run on five hits in a 2-1 loss to Great Lakes. Joseph Tucker was the hitting star in the loss and he went three for three and he drove in the lone White Caps run.
A nice start by Jeffrey Gerbe went to waste. He gave up one run on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts in six innings.
Duane Below improved to 10-5 on the season with a nice start in the White Caps 7-3 win over Clinton. He gave up one run on five hits and three walks with nine strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
Joseph Tucker went three for five with a double, a homerun and three runs. James Skelton went two for four with two doubles and three RBIs.
The White Caps couldn’t get much done at the plate as they were held to just four hits. Brennan Boesch belted a solo homerun and Joseph Tucker reached base three times with a single, two walks and an RBI.
Kelvin Cedano gave up two runs in two innings of relief and he took the loss. A nice start by Charles Furbush went to waste and he gave up just one run on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in five innings.
The White Caps scored a single run in the first inning but that’s all they’d get the entire game as they lost to the Bees 4-1. Joseph Tucker had two of the White Cap’s four hits and he scored their only run.
A pretty good start went to waste for Duane Below and he fell to 8-5 on the season. He gave up three runs (two earned) on eight hits with six strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Jonah Nickerson improved to 8-6 on the season with a nice start in the White Caps 5-3 win over Burlington. He gave up two runs on seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts in six innings.
Ryan Strieby doubled and drove in three runs in the win. Joseph Tucker went two for four with a double, an RBI and a run.
The White Caps took care of Kane County 4-1 and it was Lauren Gagnier who got it done on the mound. He gave up just one run on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
Jeramy Laster went two for four with a double. Joseph Tucker singled twice and he scored a run in the win.
The GCL Tigers scored two runs in the eighth inning to turn a 3-0 deficit into a one run game but that was as close as they’d get in a 3-2 loss to the GCL Blue Jays. Carlos Ramirez doubled and drove in a run while Joseph Tucker went two for four with a double.
Brandon Johnson had a pretty good outing but he took the loss. He fell to 0-2 and he gave up one run on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings.
