Whitecaps Lose to Dayton in the Ninth

by @ 2:57 am. Filed under Brandon Hamilton, Jared Gayhart, Joseph Bowen, Mike Gosse, West Michigan Whitecaps - June 2009

Jared Gayhart gave up a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth and that proved to be the difference in the Whitecaps 5-4 loss to the Dragons.  It was Gayhart’s third inning of relief and he fell to 5-3.  Brandon Hamilton had another mediocre start and he gave up four runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings.  With his rough first couple of months, you wonder if Hamilton is destined for Oneonta when the short season teams start up.

Joseph Bowen went two for four with two RBIs.  Mike Gosse went two for four with a double, a run and an RBI.
