Yorman Bazardo fell to 1-1 on the season with a rough start in the Hens 5-1 loss to Lehigh Valley. He gave up four runs on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts in five innings of work.
Jackson Melian provided most of the offense for the Hens. He went three for four with a solo homer.
The Hens took care of Lehigh Valley 8-3 and Eddie Bonine improved to 3-0 with a solid start. He gave up just two runs (one earned) on six hits with four strikeouts in eight innings of work.
Matthew Joyce tripled, homered, drove in two and scored twice in the game. Jackson Melian went two for five with a double, two runs and an RBI.
The Mud Hens were only able to push one run across the plate as they lost to Lehigh Valley 4-1. Timo Perez reached base three times with two singles and a walk while Jackson Melian drove in the lone run with a solo homer.
Jonathan Connolly took the loss despite a solid outing. He gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks with one strikeout in five innings.
Erie took care of Harrisburg 7-2 and it was Jair Jurrjens who shut down the opposition for the win. He improved to 5-5 on the season and he gave up one run on four hits with ten strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Jackson Melian had a big day at the plate. He went two for four with a double, a homerun and four RBIs. William Rhymes went three for four with a double, an RBI and two runs.
Erie took care of Trenton 4-1 in ten innings and while Dallas Trahern didn’t pick up the win, he kept the Seawolves in the game. He gave up one unearned run on just three hits and three walks in eight innings of work. Randor Bierd improved to 2-0 on the season with a shutout ninth inning.
Jeff Larish doubled, drew three walks, drove in two and scored a run. Jackson Melian singled and drove in two runs in the win.
Jackson Melian belted a two run homer in the sixth inning and that was pretty much the extend of the Seawolves offense. Melian was also the only hitter with two hits for Erie.
Jair Jurrjens had a rough start and he fell to 4-5 on the season. He gave up five runs on ten hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.
Erie took care of Reading 7-4 and in the process, Eddie Bonine picked up his tenth win of the season. He gave up four runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Jackson Melian homered and drove in three runs in the win. Andres Torres went three for five with an RBI and two runs.
Jackson Melian had a huge day at the plate in the Seawolves 10-5 win over Bowie. In a game where eight of Erie’s runs came in the first two innings, Melian went three for four with a homerun, five RBIs and two runs. Clete Thomas went three for five with a triple, an RBI and two runs.
Matthew Righter was touched up for five runs in 4 2/3 innings and he didn’t get the decision in his start. Danny Zell picked up the win with 1 1/3 innings of shutout relief and he improved to 2-5 on the season.
Jonathan Connolly improved to 4-3 on the season with a nice start in the Seawolves 7-4 win over Akron. He gave up just two runs on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.

Erie lost to Akron 7-6 and a throwing error by Kody Kirkland resulted in three unearned runs in the loss. Andrew Kown was roughed up in his start and he gave up six runs (three earned) on ten hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Danny Zell took the loss and he gave up one run in 2/3 of an inning.
Nick Trzesniak went two for four with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs. Jackson Melian went three for four with a double, a triple, an RBI and a run.
Matthew Joyce had only one hit in Erie’s 7-2 win over Bowie but it was a two run homer. Joyce also drew two walks and he finished the game with three runs. Jackson Melian went three for five with a run and an RBI.
Roman Colon improved to 2-0 on the season since his demotion to Double A. He gave up just one walk with three strikeouts in two shutout innings.
Erie and Bowie only got in five innings but I’m sure Bowie was glad to get out of there after Erie rang up ten runs on them. Jackson Melian went two for two with a homerun and three RBIs while Matthew Joyce doubled, drove in two and scored a run.
Eddie Bonine was spectacular and he improved to 7-4 with the win. He gave up two unearned runs on just one hit with two strikeouts and he pitched all five innings.
The Seawolves took care of Bowie 9-4 and Jeff Larish had a very productive day at the plate. He went three for four with a double, a homerun and four RBIs. Matthew Joyce hit a solo homerun and he scored three runs while Jackson Melian was a perfect three for three with a triple, two RBIs and a run.
Dallas Trahern won his tenth game season although it wasn’t his best outing. He gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in seven innings.
Jair Jurrjens fell to 2-3 on he season with a rough start in Erie’s 9-6 loss to Trenton. He gave up six runs on eight hits and three walks with three strikeouts in four innings.

For a while, Dallas Trahern looked like the best pitcher in the Tigers system who doesn’t have the last name Miller. Now, after two straight rough losses, he’s looking like the guy you’d expect to have a hard time at the Double A level. Today, he gave up seven runs (three earned) on eleven hits and three walks in just 3 2/3 innings.

Andrew Kown improved to 2-3 on the season with a nice start in Erie’s 6-0 win over Portland. He gave up just four hits and a walk with six strikeouts in five shutout innings.
Jackson Melian went two for four and he drove in three runs. Mike Holliman went two for three with an RBI and two runs.
This was a wild one. Erie scored the first five runs and then Portland scored the next eight. Then Erie got two in the eighth and two in the ninth to win it. Jackson Melian drove in the tying run and then Clete Thomas drove home the winning run by drawing a bases loaded walk.
Erick Almonte led the way with the bat. He went two for three with a double, a grand slam and three runs scored. Melian finished the game with three hits and he drove in two.
Kevin Adroin picked up the win. He gave up a hit and a walk with strikeout in a shutout ninth inning.
Erie had a tough time at the plate in their 3-1 loss to Akron. The lone run of the game for the Seawolves came on a solo homer by Jackson Melian. The designated hitter also picked up three of the six hits in the game for the Seawolves.
A decent start by Eulogio de la Cruz was wasted with the lack of offense. He gave up three runs (two earned) on eight hits and a walk with on strikeout.
Jair Jurrjens pitched the Seawolves to a 5-1 win over Akron. He gave up just one unearned run on seven hits and one walks with six strikeouts. The win improves his record to 2-2 on the season. Jurrjens now has 39 strikeouts in 50 2/3 innings and he’s given up only two homeruns in a pretty good start to the season.
Jackson Melian was the hitting star in the win. He went three for four with a double and he drove in three of Erie’s five runs.
Eddie Bonine improved to 2-1 on the season with seven solid innings in the Sea Wolves 6-2 win. He gave up one run on five hits with three strikeouts.
Brent Dlugach had a big day at the plate. He went two for four with a three run homer and two runs scored. Jackson Mellan also had a nice game and he went two for four with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
