You’d think it’d be hard to be find a high note in a game where the pitchers gave up seven runs, but Guillermo Moscoso struck out ten in six innings in his win over Akron. He did give up four runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk but the ten strikeouts puts him at 122 on the season in just 86 2/3 innings.
Casper Wells hit a two run homer in the 9-7 win. Pedro Cotto tripled twice and drove in two runs.
The SeaWolves scored four runs in the first inning and then held on to beat Reading 4-3. Guillermo Moscoso had an impressive outing the mound and he won his first start since getting promoted to Erie. He gave up one unearned run on three hits and a walk with ten strikeouts in six innings. He now has 82 strikeouts in 58 innings this year and he only has fourteen walks and a .190 batting average against. Not bad for a guy who didn’t show up many prospect lists last year.
Jeff Frazier went two for four with a double, two RBIs and a run. William Rhymes was a perfect four for four with a double, a triple and a run.
Jay Sborz gave up three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Flying Tigers fell to Vero Beach 5-4. A solid start by Guillermo Moscoso went to waste. He gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Ryan Strieby went two for four with a double, a homerun and two RBIs. Michael Bertram went two for four with a run.
Lakeland scored just two runs in a 5-2 loss to Palm Beach as the hitters were held in check. Soctt Sizemore was the hitting star and he went two for four with a walk and a solo homer.
A nice start by Ramon Garcia went to waste. He gave up two runs on eight hits with a strikeout in six innings. Guillermo Moscoso fell to 0-1 and he gave up three runs in 2 1/3 innings.
Rick Porcello didn’t get the win, but he had another nice start in Lakeland’s 4-1 win over Dunedin. He gave up just one run on five hits and a walk with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Zach Simons got the final batter out in the sixth and he got the win while Guillermo Moscoso had an impressive outing. He struck out five of the six batters he faced over two perfect innings.
Jeramy Laster and Brandon Timm both hit solo shots. Brennan Boesch went three for four with a double and a run.
Oneonta had just as many errors as they had hits as the lost game two of their playoff series with Auburn 6-0. Justin Henry has to two of the Tigers four hits and he was the only Tiger to reach base twice.
Guillermo Moscoso took the loss with a mediocre start. He gave up four runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Oneonta blew out Aberdeen 14-8 in a game that saw five different Oneonta hitters drive in at least a pair of runs. Christopher White went three for six with an RBI and three runs while Casper Wells belted a two run shot.
Guillermo Moscoso improved to 8-2 on the season with a nice start. He gave up one run on five hits and one walk with four strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Oneonta kept their first place lead with a doubleheader split with Vermont. In game one, Jose Fragoso and the bullpen was hit hard in a 7-3 loss. He fell to 2-3 and he gave up two runs on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts in two innings. Christopher Carlson was the hitting star and he went two for three with a double and a run.
The Tigers picked it up in the second and won 4-1. Guillermo Moscoso improved to 7-2 with yet another nice start. He gave up one run on six hits with six strikeouts in seven innings. Carlson followed things up in this second game with a double, a run and an RBI.
Guillermo Moscoso had one of those mixed starts. He did lost and he fell to 6-2 while giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk but he struck out an impressive eight batters in five innings. Collin Mahoney was shelled for six runs and he was only able to get one batter out.
Jorge Patino was the hitting star in the 10-1 loss. He went two for four and one of his hits was a double.
Oneonta lost 4-2 to Staten Island but Christopher Carlson had a nice individual performance. He went three for four with a homerun and two runs. Justin Henry went two for three with a walk.
Guillermo Moscoso fell to 4-1 with a rough start. He gave up three runs on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts in four innings of work.
Guillermo Moscoso was perfect in a fantastic start in Oneonta’s 6-0 win over Bavaria. He faced just the minimum 27 and he struck out seven and the win pushed his record to 3-0 on the season.
Christopher Carlson had just one hit but with his double, he scored a run and drove in two. Kyle Peter doubled and drove in two runs.
Guillermo Moscoso improved to 2-0 on the season with six shutout innings in Oneonta’s 6-2 win over Hudson Valley. He gave up just three hits and two walks with seven strikeouts.
The Tigers scored the bulk of their runs on a pair of two run homers by Christopher Carlson and Cory Middleton. Devin Thomas also had a nice game with a single, a double, a run and an RBI.
Casper Wells had a huge day at the plate in Oneonta’s 10-6 win over Tri-City. He went three for four with a double, two homeruns, five RBIs and two runs. Christopher Carlson went three for five with a homerun, three RBIs and three runs while Kody Kaiser continued to rake and he went three for five with a run.
Guillermo Moscoso improved to 1-0 on the season with a solid start. He gave up four runs on nine hits and one walk with three strikeouts in five innings.
