The GCL Tigers lost their final game of the season 2-1 to the GCL Phillies. Gary Perinar fell to 0-3 and he gave up two runs on four hits with four strikeouts. Robert Diaz struck out three in two shutout innings of relief.
Luis Castillo went one for four with an RBI. Londell Taylor went one for two with aa walk and a run.
Oneonta lost not only their suspended game from last night, but they also dropped today’s game as they got their fill of baseball. Game one was a 3-2 loss in eleven innings. John Murrian led the way at the plate and he went three for four with a double and an RBI. Adam Wilk had a really nice start and he struck out seven and he gave up just one hit in five innings. Michael Torrealba dropped to 1-1 and while he did a solid job in three innings, he gave up the game winner in the eleventh.
Game two was a lot rougher. Gary Perinar was shelled for six runs in 1 1/3 innings and all three pitchers the Tigers threw out there were tagged for runs. Jamie Johnson was the hitting star and he went two for four with a double and two runs.
Rawley Bishop led the way at the plate for the Oneonta Tigers in their 8-2 win over Aberdeen. He went two for four with two doubles, a walk and three RBIs. Keith Hernandez also had a nice game and he went three for five with two doubles, a run and an RBI.
Gary Perinar improved to 1-1 with a solid start. He gave up one run on two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in five innings.
Last night’s game was cancelled so Oneonta is playing two tonight. Game one was a 3-0 loss in which the offense was held to just four hits. Alexis Espinoza and Michael Rockett had the only extra base hits with a double each.
Gary Perinar took the loss and he fell to 0-1. He gave up three runs on five hits and four walks with three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
