Ramon Garcia gave up four first inning runs but the SeaWolves fought back and pulled to within a 5-5 tie. Unfortunately, Zach Simons gave up a ninth inning run and that cost the Wolves the win in the 6-5 loss. Garcia gave up five runs (three earned) in seven innings and Simons took the loss and he fell to 1-2.
Rawley Bishop went two for four with a double, a walk, a run and an RBI. Michael Bertam went two for five with a double, a run and an RBI.
Brooks Brown was pummeled for nine runs on seven hits and four walks in just 2 2/3 innings in the SeaWolves 10-9 loss to Bowie. What was probably most impressive about this game was even after being down 10-0, the Wolves made a play at things with an eight run fifth inning. Still, their comeback fell short. Brown fell to 4-4 and Cory Hamilton had a nice outing. He gave up a run on five hits with three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings of relief.
Michael Bertram had the big blast with a grand slam in the eight run fifth inning. Andy Bouchie hit a three run home run earlier in the inning. The Wolves needed just six hits for their nine runs because of the two big home runs.
Lester Oliveros gave up three runs in the eleventh inning as the SeaWolves lost to Richmond 6-3. Oliveros fell to 0-1 and that was after a solid start by Charles Furbush. Furbush gave up three runs on eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts in seven innings of work. Zach Simons also had a nice outing and he gave up just two hits and a walk with three strikeouts in three shutout innings.
Rawley Bishop went one for three with a walk and two RBIs. Cale Iorg went one for with a walk and he scored a pair of runs.
Brooks Brown fell to 3-3 on the season with a rough start in the SeaWolves 5-3 loss to Akron. He gave up four runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings.
Andy Dirks went two for four with a pair of runs. Wilkin Ramirez drove in two with his fifteenth home run of the season.
