Dontrelle Willis picked up his first win for the Hens with a solid start. He gave up two runs on six hits and only two walks with five strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Freddy Dolsi pitched a shutout ninth and he picked up his tenth save of the season.
Mike Gosse hit a two run home run in the 4-3 win. Mike Hessman went yard wth a solo shot.
Dontrelle Willis was back to his old tricks as the Hens were doubled up by Indianapolis 6-3. He gave up five runs on three hits and eight walks with a strikeout in four innings. He fell to 0-2 with the Hens. Jeremy Bonderman threw an inning of shutout relief.
Don Kelly went two for four with a double and an RBI. Wilkin Ramirez went two for four with a triple, a run and an RBI.
Scott Sizemore had a big day at the plate as the Tigers edged the Clippers 7-6. Sizemore had a hand in five of the Hens six runs and he went three for five with two doubles, a home run, three RBIs and three runs. Dane Sardinha went two for three with a walk and a solo home run.
Dontrelle Willis got the start and he gave up a run in 1 1/3 innings with a walk and a hit. Freddy Dolsi improved to 4-2 despite a mediocre outing. he gave up two runs on five hits with three strikeouts in three innings.
The Hens offensive struggled against the Red Sox continued with a 2-1 loss last night. Brent Clevlen once again led the way at the plate. He doubled, drew a walk and scored the lone run for Toledo. Ryan Roberson doubled, drew a walk and drove in the one run.
Dontrelle Willis made his second rehab start and this time, things went a little better. He gave up two runs on five hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.
Dontrelle Willis threw just one inning before Matt Rusch took over to throw five shutout frames in the Hens 3-2 win over Richmond. He improved to 3-0 and he gave up just one hit with four strikeouts.
Freddy Guzman went two for four with an RBI. Maxwell Leon went two for two with two runs.
The Flying Tigers lost to Clearwater tonight 5-1. The hitters managed just six hits and two of those came off the bat of Justin Justice. The leftfielder also drove in the lone Lakeland run.
Dontrelle Willis fell to 0-2. He gave up five runs (four earned) on ten hits with six strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Almost as important, Willis didn’t walk a single batter.
The Mud Hens scored two in the eighth inning and one in the ninth to edge the Charlotte Knights 6-5. Dane Sardinha drove in the winning run with a solo homer while Jeff Larish, Mike Hessman and Michael Hollimon all went yard. For Hessman, it’s his 17th homer of the season and six homeruns in his last six games.
Dontrelle Willis had a tough time in his rehab start. He gave up five runs on seven hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Preston Larrison threw 2 1/3 innings of shutout ball and he improved to 2-1 while Blaine Neal threw a shutout ninth to pick up his 13th save of the season.
