Christopher Cody wasn’t awesome, but he certainly held his own in his first Florida State League start. He gave up two runs on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings before giving it up to the pen. Derek Witt then had a tough time and he gave up seven runs (three earned) in three innings and he took the loss.
Wilkin Ramirez went two for three with a double and a run in the 9-2 loss. Rafael Mendez went two for four with two RBIs.
The White Caps struggles continued with a pretty poor offensive outing against Fort Wayne. Santo De Leon’s double was one of three White Caps hits and he drove in the only for the team.
A nice start by Christopher Cody went to waste. He gave up two runs on seven hits with nine strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.
This game was picked up in the second inning and Jeffrey Gerbe continued what Christpher Cody started yesterday. He gave up just two runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk with three strikeouts in seven solid innings.
Deik Scram went two for four with a double, a run and an RBI. Gorkys Hernandez went two for four with two doubles and an RBI.
Christopher Cody had a decent start go to waste in the White Caps 6-2 loss to Lansing. He gave up three runs on six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in seven innings of work. Reliever Jose Fragoso was hit hard in the later innings and he gave up three runs in the final three frames.
Gorkys Hernandez went two for five with a double and a run. He’s now hitting .317 on the season. Jeramy Laster went two for three with a double and a run.
Christopher Cody got it done on the mound in the White Caps 3-2 win over Beloit. He gave up two runs on five hits and he struck out ten in eight quality innings. The win improves his record to 4-3 on the season.
Jeffrey Kunkel was the hitting star in the win. He went three for four with a triple, a run and an RBI.
The White Caps were down by two runs heading into the ninth when they rallied for three runs to top Quad Cities 6-5. Gorkys Hernandez drove in the winning run with a single and it was one of three RBIs he had in the game. Santo De Leon also had a nice day at the plate. He went three for four with a run and an RBI.

The White Caps couldn’t put a single run on the board and a great start by Christopher Cody was wasted in the 1-0 loss. Cody gave up on unearned run on two hits with six strikeouts in seven innings and the loss is his first of the season.
Louis Ott was the hitting star, if you can have one in a shutout. He went two for four with a double.
Christopher Cody has been a man on fire for West Michigan lateley. He gave up just one run on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in seven innings of work and the win improved his record to 2-0. The eighth round draft pick in 2006, Cody has now just given up one earned run in 26 2/3 innings and he’s struck out 28. This is one of those guys who doesn’t throw really well and until starts facing guys in Double A, we really won’t know if he’s for real. Those number are pretty amazing though and he’s a left hander, which makes it even better.
Jeramy Laster went one for four with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs. Gorkys Hernandez scored twice and Louis Ott finished with three hits, a run and an RBI in the 8-2 win.
Christopher Cody was on fire in the White Caps 5-0 win today. He gave up just four hits and two walks with five strikeouts in eight shutout innings. He improved to 1-0 and he now has a string of 19 2/3 innings where he hasn’t given up a run. He’s struck out 21 versus just five walks, which is a pretty impressive ratio.
Gorkys Hernandez had a hot day with the stick. He went two for three with a walk, a run and an RBI. James Skelton went two for four with a run and an RBI.
A great start by Christopher Cody went to waste today as the White Caps lost 3-1 to the Lug Nuts. He gave up just one unearned run on two hits and a walk with eleven strikeouts through 6 2/3 innings but he left the game tied 1-1 because West Michigan couldn’t get their sticks going. Then Randor Bierd gave up a two run homerun in the ninth and he took the loss.
Ryan Strieby singled home Deik Scram for the only run of the game. James Skelton had two of the White Caps four hits.
Left hander Christopher Cody had a solid start today for the White Caps. He threw five shutout innings in which he gave up six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in five innings of work. Josh Rainwater was tagged for all three runs in the 3-2 loss.
Ryan Strieby hit a solo homerun for one of the two White Cap runs. Diek Scram scored the other run and he was the only White Cap with two hits.
