Rick Porcello didn’t get the win, but he had another nice start in Lakeland’s 4-1 win over Dunedin. He gave up just one run on five hits and a walk with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Zach Simons got the final batter out in the sixth and he got the win while Guillermo Moscoso had an impressive outing. He struck out five of the six batters he faced over two perfect innings.
Jeramy Laster and Brandon Timm both hit solo shots. Brennan Boesch went three for four with a double and a run.
Lakeland blew a three run lead when Brendan Wise and Juan Cedeno combined to give up four runs in the eighth inning. Wise took the loss and he fell to 0-3 and it was too bad because a very nice start by Luis Marte went to waste. Marte gave up four hits with four strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
Jeramy Laster went three for four with double but he was picked off and caught stealing in the game. Brennan Boesch drove two runs on a pair of sac. flies.
Jeramy Laster had a nice day at the plate as the Flying Tigers took care of Fort Myers 8-3. He went two for three with a walk, a double, a stolen base, two RBIs and a run. Brennan Boesch went two for three with a walk, an RBI and two runs.
Matt O’Brien picked up the win and he improved to 2-0. He gave up three runs on six hits and one walk with two strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
The Rick Porcello era has begun. Last year’s first round draft pick gave up just one hit and two walks with three strikeouts in five shutout innings in the Flying Tigers 4-1 win. Freddy Dolsi struck out the side, but he gave up the lone run of the game to Tampa.
Brennan Boesch doubled and drove in two runs in the win. Louis Ott singled, drew a walk and scored twice.
The White Caps two game lead in the Midwest League championship has disappeared the past two days and now after tonight’s 5-0 shutout loss to Beloit, the White Caps play a winner take all game five tonight. Jordan Newton was the only White Caps hitter to get two hits and Brennan Boesch had the only extra base hit with a double.
Jeffrey Gerbe had a rough start and he took the loss. He gave up five runs on six hits and one walk with nine strikeouts in seven innings. Two of those six hits went over the wall.
The White Caps won their best of three game series with South Bend today and finished with a sweep of both of playoff series to play in the Midwest League championship series. James Skelton led the way at the plate and he reached base five times. He singled twice, doubled, drew two walks, drove in two and scored once. Brennan Boesch also had a nice game and he went two for five with two RBIs.
Charles Furbush picked up the win although he hardly his best stuff. He gave up four runs on six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
The White Caps rallied for three runs in the ninth inning to beat the Dragons 5-4. The game winner came when Ryan Strieby was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. This was after Brennan Boesch singled home a run to tie the game up. Gorky Hernandez got it done at the plate otherwise. He went three for three with two walks, a double, an RBI and two runs.
Brett Jensen improved to 4-1 on the season. He gave up one hit and a walk with one strikeout in a shutout ninth inning.
Charles Furbush improved to 4-0 with yet another nice start in the White Caps 6-1 win over the Loons. He gave up just a single run on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in seven very solid innings.
Brennan Boesch went two for three with a walk, an RBI, a double and two runs. Jordan Newton went two for four with a triple and two RBIs.

The White Caps couldn’t get much done at the plate as they were held to just four hits. Brennan Boesch belted a solo homerun and Joseph Tucker reached base three times with a single, two walks and an RBI.
Kelvin Cedano gave up two runs in two innings of relief and he took the loss. A nice start by Charles Furbush went to waste and he gave up just one run on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in five innings.
Ryan Strieby had a big day at the plate in the White Caps 11-2 blowout win over the Bees. He went three for four with two homeruns, four RBIs and three runs. Brennan Boesch also had a big day and he went two for five with a double, a homerun and four RBIs.
Charles Furbush picked up the win his first White Caps start. The Tigers’ fourth round pick in his years draft gave up one run on three hits and one walk with five strikeouts in five innings of work.
Five White Caps’ errors led to five unearned runs in their 8-2 loss to the Kane County Cougars. Duane Below took the loss despite a decent start. He gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in five innings. The loss dropped him to 8-4 on the season.
Scott Sizemore singled twice and he scored both White Caps runs in the loss. Brennan Boesch went two for four with an RBI. They accounted for all four White Caps hits.
Jonah Nickerson improved to 7-6 on the season with a nice start in the White Caps 6-3 win over the Cougars. He gave up two runs on eight hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings.
Brennan Boesch went three for five with two RBIs. Scott Sizemore went one for three with a double, two walks, two RBIs and a run.
The White Caps took care of the Loons in a 9-4 beatdown. Santo De Leon led the way for West Michigan and he went two for four with three RBIs and two runs. Brennan Boesch had another nice game and he went two for three with a walk, an RBI and two runs.
Luis Marte picked up the win and he improved to 1-1 on the season. He gave up one run on six hits and two walks with six strikeout six innings.
Lauren Gagnier had a mixed bag of a start as he fell to 3-9 on the season. He gave four runs, but only two of them were earned and he struck out seven in 7 2/3 innings.
Brennan Boesch was the hitting star. He went two for four with a triple and an RBI.
Jonah Nickerson had a pretty good start in the White Caps 4-3 win over South Bend. He gave up three runs (two earned) on ten hits and five walks with two strikeouts in seven innings. Zachary Piccola picked up the win with two shutout innings and he improved to 1-0 on the season.
Gorkys Hernandez went two for five with a double and a run. Brennan Boesch singled twice and he drove in two runs.
It looks like Matt O’Brien’s demotion to Single A was just what he needed because in his second consecutive start, he didn’t give up a run. He improved to 2-0 and he gave up six hits and three walks with two strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
The lone run of the game for both sides came in the first inning. Brennan Boesch singled home Scott Sizemore and that was it. Sizemore was the only White Cap hitter with two hits.

Brenna Boesch had a big day at the plate in the White Caps 7-4 win over the Dragons. He doubled, drove in three runs and scored. Louis Ott went one for two with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs while Audy Ciriaco went two for three with a double and two runs.
Angel Castro picked up the win with five solid innings. He gave up two runs on five hits and a walk with one strikeout and the win pushed his record to 7-4.
Kenny Rogers took the loss in the White Caps 10-0 blowout loss to Dayton. He gave up three runs (one earned) on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings. He’s getting in his time though and building up his endurance and it still looks like he’ll be making his Tiger season debut in June.
Brennan Boesch was the only White Cap with two hits. He singled and doubled in the loss.
