Erie Sweeps Doubleheader Over Bowie

by @ 6:10 pm. Filed under Anthony Tomey, Benjamin Fritz, Erie SeaWolves - April 2008, Freddy Guzman, Jeff Frazier, Josh Rainwater, Maxim St. Pierre, Wilkin Ramirez

Erie took two today in two very different games over Bowie.  The first game was a pitcher’s dual in which Benjamin Fritz threw six solid innings.  He gave up one run on seven hits with two strikeouts while Josh Rainwater picked up the win with a shutout inning in the eighth inning.  Jeff Frazier went two for three with two walks while Wilkin Ramirez belted a solo shot.

In the second game, Erie’s pitching wasn’t nearly as good but they piled on the offense.  Freddy Guzman tripled and he drove in four runs while Maxim St. Pierre doubled, drove in three and scored a run.  Anthony Tomey was the least effective pitcher and he gave up three runs in three innings but he was the one who picked up the win.
