After losing their first eight games, Erie has now won their last two and this time it was behind a nice outing by Andrew Oliver. He gave up just a run on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings. Brooks Brown picked up his first save with three innings of solid relief. He gave up a run on three hits with two strikeouts.
Cale Iorg went one for three with a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Andy Dirks went two for four with two RBIs and a run in the 8-2 win.
Over the weekend it was Trenton and now it’s the B-Mets. The SeaWolves dropped their fifth straight to open the season although at least this time they scored some runs. Deik Scram belted a three run blast to provide most of the offense while Santo De Leon hit a solo home run.
Andrew Oliver took the loss in a rough start. He gave up six runs (five earned) on six hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings. Brendan Wise had a solid outing and he pitched 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief.
