Julio Rodriguez drove home Ryan Soares with an infield single in the bottom of the tenth inning as the Connecticut Tigers pulled out a close one against Mahoning Valley. Soares also had a solo home run earlier in the contest and Alexander Nunez went four for five with a triple and a run.
Logan Hoch picked up the win and he improved to 1-0 in the 5-4 win. He gave up just a hit and a walk with three strikeouts in two shutout innings.
Trevor Feeney fell to 7-8 on the season with a rough start in the Whitecaps 7-3 loss to the Dragons. He gave up five runs on eleven hits and one walk with four strikeouts in five innings.
Michael Rockett had the nice day at the plate. He went two for four with a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Wade Gaynor doubled and drew a walk.
Jon Kibler’s struggles continued and he fell to 1-3 in the Flying Tigers 5-3 loss to Dunedin. He gave up four runs on four hits with a walk and four strikeouts in five innings.
Alexander Moreno went one for three with two RBIs in the loss. Brandon Douglas went three for four with a double, a triple and a run.
The SeaWolves got it done with the long ball in their 8-3 win over Bowie. Bryan Pounds belted a pair of solo shots in the win while Deik Scram hit a grand slam in the fourth inning.
Charles Furbush struck out eleven in a nice start. He gave up two runs on four hits and two walks in seven innings.
The Tigers got some solid production from the top of their batting order last night as they took care of Columbus 9-4. Scott Sizemore went three for five with a double, three runs and two RBIs while Will Rhymes went two for four with two doubles, three RBIs and a run.
Alfredo Figaro improved to 7-6 on the season with a decent start. He gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts in six innings.
